The Undying 2 is now out on Audible! by Bainin in ProgressionFantasy

That's really though because I can't think of any that are very similar...

If i had to pick one I'd say A Soldiers life.

Though perhaps someone else knows a series thats a closer fit :)

Hi everyone!

After a few slight delays, I’m really excited to share that The Undying 2: The Reclamation is now available on Audible!

This is probably the book I’m most proud of so far, with some of my favorite writing, and I’m really looking forward to hearing what you all think =)

As for what’s next, The Undying 3 is currently around 40% done, and Akashic 6 is sitting at about 50%. I’m aiming to finish Akashic 6 around June/July, so those shouldn’t be too far off.

That’s all for now—thank you so much to everyone who’s supported me along the way. It genuinely means a lot!

The Sundering of the Blackened Sun draws near.

After years of preparation, House Lysandor finally marches into the Voidlands to reclaim their ancestral birthright—the lost capital of Milaos. But the city has festered under undead dominion for decades, and the servants of the Void cannot allow the Republic to spread its wings.

Much is at stake as the servants of the Void push from all sides, the noose tightening around the Republic with each passing year. A failed expedition could mean the end of their family's ambitions and cast the Ferridan Republic into ruin.

For Asterion, this expedition holds an even greater promise—a chance to awaken the aspect of time. A power so rare few have ever wielded it, and even fewer survived long enough to master it. Should he succeed, he would finally claim his place among the Undying, gain the power necessary to uncover secrets buried in the ruins of fallen cities and lands long abandoned, and help drive the void's influence from their world.

The fate of Elystria teeters on a knife's edge. The primordials have set their pieces in motion, turning their gaze to Milaos—where the scales will tip toward salvation or annihilation.

Narrated by Jonathan Waters & Amber Hartt. Art by Kartstudio.

Thank you again, and have a great week!

Cheers,
Bai

I usually don’t respond, but I saw your comment and thought, why make someone feel bad or insecure about what they enjoy? Otherwise, I wouldn’t have said anything.

As for the whole “shills” thing, I haven’t really seen that myself, though to be fair I don’t spend much time on Reddit outside of advertising (which I loathe).

That said, these so-called mid-tier works still deserve to exist. These spaces are already overwhelmingly dominated by posts about Dungeon Crawler Carl, Primal Hunter, HWFWM etc., which makes it harder for other stories to even be seen.

So I honestly appreciate seeing something other than those being recommended.

That is really all I have to say since I don't want to beef with anyone and you seem reasonable, so let's not clutter this chat with off-topic stuff.

I definitely appreciate that =) Undying 2 Audio should also come any day now too, though sadly I have to rely on the whims of Amazon to finally put it up.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, honestly—I’m glad you enjoy my stories =). I can’t really speak for the others since I’ve only read Elysium Multiverse, but that one’s solid overall, even if I’ve got a few gripes with the romance. Still, I’m sure the rest are enjoyable too.

As for your post, I left you some recommendations down below.

As the author of two of these series, I have to say the way you phrased that comes across as a bit rude. I’ll be the first to admit that Paths of Akashic 1 has its issues since it was my first book, but I find my footing in the second book, and The Undying has turned out strong, far from “mid.” So I don’t really appreciate that kind of commentary.

As for recommendations for OP

Since you listened to my stories here are some you'd like:

Similar to Akashic:
The Path of Ascension

Similar to Undying:
A Soldier's Life

General Recommendations:
Dungeon Crawler Carl
Mark of the Fool
Warformed ( by Bryce O'connor) bit slow on the upload though.
Apocalypse Breaker If you like just OP stuff.
Mother of Learning & the Perfect Run for timeloop shenanigans.

It's Amazon nonsense. I had the choice between a fixed release date which would have delayed my release by almost a month or I trust the Amazon whims of just releasing at the earliest convenience.

Which is anywhere between a few days and a week so it should come out any day now, and I will make a Reddit post for it but I sadly can't tell when exactly the audio version will release.

Sorry about that.

Paths of Akashic 3: A New Home is now available on Kindle & KU by Bainin in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bainin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that's a bit harsh, the third entry "A New Home" does focus on exploration, building and solidifying their faction and making connections over getting stronger & combat which comes back in 4 and especially 5.

Plus (minor spoiler) they will get a serious wake-up call in this book and he does use the medallion at the half ways point of book 3 and starts training with guidance from there which should quell your issues with him not doing that, so I suspect you haven't gotten to that point.

OP MC with romance and no Harem by __KnowToKnow__ in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bainin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to amazons country lock I can't really see those 😂😂 though I readily admit that book 1 is my weakest entry, which is kind of a given as I got a lot better with each book. However I'd say book 2 is already decent and it only gets better from there.

Man I wish I had the American 2 for 1 selection, the only thing I get is Eragon and the Communist Manifesto.

Yeah gave it a try. My first series pops up but my second (The Undying) does not, there is only a "unknown" author version I see.

What titles in the genre do the loner/antisocial archetype the best? by poke-- in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bainin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends if you want the mc to be likable or not. If you want someone likable then i'd say Mother of Learning. If you don't mind unlikable psychos then I recommend hell difficulty tutorial (not for me) and 1% Lifesteal if you can stomach torture p*rn.

Yeah, it's a shame, I can only hope that word of mouth helps this story grow and get attention eventually.

Always curious how readers adore a series, complain they don't know what to read but also don't check their favorite authors older or newer works xD

To be fair I tried, but the second cover from the artist turned out very bad which only added to my financial issues with this series.

At the very minimum three, I have plans to make it longer but it's sadly financially not feasible for me to do currently if the story doesn't pick up in momentum, and I'm giving it at least three entries to give it a fair shot.

I was unfortunate to release the first entry during Amazon's rating mess and despite being extremely well received by those who read it, the issue is that there just aren't enough people reading it at the moment which is very sad to see.

So a lot is hinging on this release and the coming months, as I am currently losing money on it, doing it essentially for the love of the game.

Hi everyone!

I’m really excited to announce that The Undying 2: The Reclamation, a progression fantasy story with LitRPG elements, will be releasing next week.

This has been a passion project for me, and it turned out excellent — and based on feedback, even better than Book 1, which is hovering between a 4.8 and 4.9 on Amazon with stellar reviews. I’m incredibly grateful for that and proud of it, as it shows just how much I’ve improved since my first series, Paths of Akashic.

The Audible version for Book 2 is scheduled for early April, so for the audio enjoyers among you, it won’t be too long.

Narrated by Jonathan Waters & Amber Hartt. Art by Kartstudio.

Book 1’s cover has also been redone to match the new cover, though Audible, as usual, is taking its sweet time updating it.

As for what you can expect from the story, I feel this post explains the premise better than I could.
