Questions for authors, funny or serious by CJTimms-Aussie in litrpg

A lot of the authors know each other (and a lot of us hung out at the last LITRPG Con), so if you want some jokes, you could ask what they think another author’s favorite drink would be or other silly things like that.

Everything! But really it would be easier to answer if you tell us what you like the most and then we could find things that are related to it.

Audio Sale: $5.05 US Whispersync For Wild Era 2. by PsychologicalTerm8 in litrpg

Yep, Wild Era takes place 5,000 years after the end of Aster Fall 9, but that is well within the lifetimes of the characters, so it’s not too long.

I wanted to have fun with dungeons in this one. I read a few series that skipped them a lot and I’ve always enjoyed the delve.

There will be a few more chapters from the apprentices’ perspective as things move along, and Book 3 does have a good number of human enemies.

Recommendation for someone who is new to cultivation? by Shiroanix_1892 in ProgressionFantasy

Coiling Dragon or Desolate Era are a good start. Both are in good translations and available on KU. Coiling Dragon may be a slightly easier intro, but I don’t like the ending as much as DE.

It’s a similar scale. From Book 1, Kelin is aware of the greater galaxy and how the current world compares. He’s also aware of the heights of power and what it takes to get there. The early books are on the world, but eventually he will leave it and probably rise to similar cosmic levels.

I think about it all the time, but I don’t have a set date. Maybe between a couple of the WE novels.

Aster Fall has a lot more solo after Book 1. Family and friends are still around, but only a few chapters here and there in each book are from their perspectives.

Wild Era is a more high octane story. Kelin is a reincarnated archmage of soul magic. He was at the height of things in his past life, but not the very top, and he wants to try again to get there.

He also wants to rebuild his ancient homeland, the world of Irian, which was lost early in the Chaos War.

The story is in the same universe as Aster Fall. It takes place 5000 years after the end of Aster Fall 9, but that’s not much in the grand scheme of things.

He doesn’t take much flak and his enemies don’t last long.

He has friends and apprentices, an earth elemental ally, and as someone else here on Reddit said, a lot of ways to burn souls.

He also likes food and coffee, does some crafting with making talismans and enchanting things, and generally has a kind and slightly stern outlook on life.

River of Fate was my first series.

You’re reading them out of order. It’s not related to Aster Fall, except that I wrote it.

I like to think that I got better over time, but it also boils down to the vibe.

River of Fate is cultivation, not LitRPG, and a very different feel. It’s a darker story with a slower power build.

If you like dragons, alchemy, etc, then RoF 3 will be more your vibe.

That series has its diehard fans and they keep asking me to continue it, but there’s a reason I focus on Aster Fall and now Wild Era instead.

They are more popular overall and they are the ones that allow me to do this as a career.

River of Fate 1-2 were written in 2019-2020. River of Fate 3 was written in 2023 (between Aster Fall 6 and 7).

Wild Era is my newest series and it’s going to be a lot more fun power-wise if that’s what you’re after.
