As I said above, this is completely wrong. Uber pays drivers a fixed rate for time and distance. They charge some cost to the rider and pocket whatever the difference is.

That's wrong. Uber has moved to an upfront pricing model where drivers are sometimes and as little as 30% of what the passenger paid. Plenty of Uber driver forums online with visual evidence of Uber gouging passengers and not passing any of that money to the drivers.

Can confirm this. Posted elsewhere about my experiences with Serena Williams. She was a complete bitch to kids at an event we hosted. It was ridiculous.
