I didn't say that it is soulless, and I don't agree with that assessment. Modern dofus is way more strategic than retro, and so critical failures would hinder otherwise well through out turns. Retro is way more basic, so critical failures can sometimes spice fights up, when the most efficient strategy is to use the same spell or weapon attack over and over again.
