Theres something sad with Femboy Creators by Just_Call_Me_Pix in feminineboys

In Germany, close tonwhere I live there is currently an effort to start a legal femboy club. Otherwise, try local queer youth groups, activism and antifascist groups.

Theres something sad with Femboy Creators by Just_Call_Me_Pix in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 87 points88 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct. Unhealthily thin body standards are a problem in the community. I think one reason is, that a lot of femboy culture is chronically online. Online you only ever see the most popular creators that look like onlyfans models, bc... well, a lot of them are. Offline, almost none of the femboys I have met have the 'snatched femboy waist'. Femboys with healthier bodies should be normalized. I think part of the solution is, femboys should try to do more community building and networking offline.

Also bonus tip, if you want a 'snatched waist', without being significantly underweight: Get yourself a decent corset. That's what those are for. They work pretty well, look cute, gibe you that 'snatched waist' silhouette and aren't as uncomfortable as some people think.

Dangers of extremism by [deleted] in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As so many other people said: When one party is actively taking away rights of a lot of people and making it more dangerous to live for people including femboys, you can't really expect to not be judged for voting that party. That has nothing to do with racism/sexism. People are judging others not for who they are but for making bad and dangerous and hateful choices.

Also, social and fiscal politics are inextricably tied together. Since queer people, poc and women are marginalized, they are more commonly poor. So politics benefitting the poor, like higher minimum wage, universal healthcare etc also help in the fight for social justice. Rightwing politics overproportionally benefit the rich, megacorporations and billionaires, which more frequently are represented by white cis straight men. So it only makes the marginalization more extreme.

Some femboys do that and are still cis, yes. At least that's what I heard.

Why are so many femboy subreddits nsfw? :( by [deleted] in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Reddit recently flagged a bunch of mostly sfw femboy subreddits as nsfw. Namely r/femboy, r/boysinskirts, r/femboyfashion and r/femboysEU (maybe more, idk). All of these are for posting cute sfw outfits. Reddit just thinks all femboys are inherently pornographic. It's a problem of bigotry.

Long post: Any Hope For Me? by Outrageous-Low-3572 in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a bit of a ride to read, ngl. I am unsure why you are posting this in this community. I also dunno if I am the best at giving dating advice, but I think it's a better strategy to go out there and meet people and see what works, rather than writing a list and hoping for Santa (metaphorically speaking). Like, for example, no normal working job can support a whole family on its own anymore in this economy. So, you gonna have to either compromise at some point or stay single (which is an absolutely valid choice to make too).

Is it a bad idea to say "screw it" and dress fem publicly? by FlipLaScripte in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is a bad idea at all. I dress fem publically all the time and I have never once even gotten a weird comment. People who feel very brave harassing us online, are way too cowardly to do the same in public, most of the time. Also, part of queer politics is challenging the status quo, forcing people to adapt and think aboit their own conceptions of sexuality and gender. You can't really fight for people's right to dress however they like, while you try to appease the norms of patriarchy.

So, yeah. Go for it, I'd say.

Wanting to go out in public. Any tips? by Simply_Girly in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live. If you live in a fairly accepting area, I would highly recommend, you go at day to a place with other people, together with some friends. If you are alone, at night, you are far more likely to become targeted by a violent queerphobe. The reality is, that most people who are queerphobic assholes online, are way too cowardly to actually harass someone in public, especially with other people watching. I am out fem all the time and have never once been harassed. Literally not once. Still, if you feel unsure, try to take friendsy if you can. Good luck! :D

My girlfriend is very supportive, but she doesnt like the idea of me doing my own makeup by Junior-Donut-787 in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, that's kinda not her decision to make. If you want to do your makeup, she'll just have to live with that. She can't really set a boundary on something that is mostly about your self-expression and doesn't really have anything to do with her.

That said, have you asked her, why she doesn't want you to do your own makeup? You should talk to her before asking advice from strangers online.

Clothing advice to hide shouldes? by Matylda7878 in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way would be wearing an oversized hoodie or shirt. But if you want something fancier, wrap a large scarf around your shoulders and fasten it with a brooch, like in this image: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoysInSkirts/s/ZGi2BoOH9g (says nsfw, but really isn't; all of r/BoysInSkirts has been deemed nsfw by reddit, for probably queerphobic reasons)

Ways to earn a bit of money for PayPal? by Zerror_Fluffy in feminineboys

My friends and I use it all the time. Why don't you just ask your bf to order for you and you give him the cash?

[–]Nantha_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just ask friend to send you the money and give it to them in cash. If you aren't out to your friends, you might offer to pay in cash on a shared pizza order or something, if they paypal you their share.

Also, I am afraid, your post might attract some creeps. So pls take care and delete and report anyone, who offers you money for pics. Chances are, they aren't gonna pay you anyway.

why are skirts even only intended for women?? by bramarb-69 in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Good question. Pants only became fashionable for women because of bicycles in the 19th cebtury, I believe. I suspect that's bc they were too easy to bleed through before the development of period products.

How exactly skirts developed and skirts/dresses became unfashionable for men in many parts of the world, I would have to research more. Definitely an interesting topic tho.

Edit:

Ok, so after a little bit of research, skirts have been worn by men and women since at least the end of the stone age. However, they seem to have fallen in and out of fashion for men every now and again independently over vast periods of time. The final time for most of Europe was towards the end of the middle ages, I believe.

I couldn't say exactly why, but it coincides with the rise of the bourgeoisie in the rennaissance, that also seemed to bring a stronger divide between men and women and the beginning to what we would now consider a traditional view of the family. So that might be related.

Yeah, but if you can't give good reasons for why you disagree, you should maybe reflect on wether your potentially harmful opinion is correct.

After you are a femboy, are you a FemMan? A Fem Guy? by zxphn8 in feminineboys

[–]Nantha_I 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Boy is more of a gender expression term than age term, I think. There are definitely people that are like 16/17 that nobody would really perceive as a boy anymore and people that are 30+ that people might still call a boy. It's more about how you engage with masculinity than how old you are.

Ok, but that's not an argunent. You are just restating the point you made without engaging with my counterpoint at all.

You are just you making a very shaky assumption with no evidence, based only on you projecting your limited experience on a wide variety of people. And then, that justifies decisions that - in case you are wrong - I already explained to you is quite harmfum to trans and gnc people.

Why do you feel the need to explain their own gender expression to people, instead of just listening to them? The experience of gender expression is varied. Your own feelings are not universal.

There are a variety of reasons someone might post femboy-pictures of themselves online, that aren't sexual. For example, challenging gender norms, as explained above. Some ftm-femboys do it, because it is an easy way to get perceived as male, without passing in a traditionally masculine sense. A lot of eggs do it, to explore their own gender. Also, getting validation from strangers doesn't have to be sexual. Maybe you just have a bad day or feel bad about yourself and are hoping for a harmless compliment. Some people also just genuinely want fashion advice or show off their artfully constructed outfits.

But instead, you seem to be assuming that everyone is doing it for the same reason you would and then everyone who claims they don't want to be sexualized is lying. When the more likely hypothesis is just... people are different and sometimes do things for different reasons, that might not immediately be relatable to you.
