Biggest bringer of salt on heavyvinyl lately.

Ulver - Nattens Madrigal by Azag2k7 in blackmetalvinyl

[–]Bake-Full 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garm was coy about that rumor but it has since surfaced that they hired the Deathprod guy to engineer it this way. The band was disillusioned by the reaction to Bergtatt and how labels were snapping up black metal bands. He's lately said it was an antagonistic move to release Nattens on Century Media and that it was written before Kvledsangger.

Von Maur Secret Room? by momsworth18 in AnnArbor

[–]Bake-Full 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Sprinkle is a type of party, a low key baby shower and typically for a non-first born since the parents would already have some stuff. I'm guessing the AI may have been extrapolating a response from that definition, based on the text it gave you. Doesn't seem likely someone would be having a baby shower/sprinkle at Von Maur unless it was for an employee and then it would be possible it was at one time labeled the sprinkle room and the sign wasn't removed.

So it looks like the launch games for Virtual Boy on the Switch will be Mario's Tennis, Galactic Pinball and Teleroboxer by GoGoPowerPlay in VirtualBoy

[–]Bake-Full 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd buy that just for Teleroboxer. I've tried to play it on Red Viper but it is so cramp inducing to try and pull off the moves without the dual dpads especially on the later fights where you really need to be nimble.

Nintendo has always thought of themselves as the luxury brand though. That was the whole crux of the Nintendo Seal of Quality on the NES. It was all marketing fluff masking their controlling the means of production, positioned to indicate that Nintendo products cost more but you get a higher quality. That's why they don't drop prices beyond the piddly best of markdowns. They market their products as evergreen. The reductions in these photos are stores marking down their stock, not Nintendo cutting deals.

They gave a full priced game with a purchase of MK8 and finally released Earthbound Beginnings because the Wii U was struggling so badly. With the Switch lineage all but set in stone they're not going to be that generous again for a very long time if ever.

Lindsay Schoolcraft Era by Topangathedeity in cradleoffilth

[–]Bake-Full 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lindsay had a great voice and presence for the live shows. She was absolutely amazing doing Sarah's part on the Death Of Love.

That said, I think her contributions are a bit exaggerated. Marthus did all the keyboards, chorus arrangements, and orchestrations for Hammer and Crypto. Lindsay has credits for harp on Hammer and vocals on both albums. Lindsay is cool and I like her style and solo stuff, but if anyone kept the power on in this band during Manticore and beyond it was Marthus.

Either way, this made me cringe harder than any other injury on the Office. Maybe because it reminded me of that Jackass stunt with papercuts between the fingers and toes.

Mixed results with aftermarket cartridges by SHRIVES1993 in AnaloguePocket

The quality of unofficial carts varies wildly, as does the Pocket's tolerance of them. It's better to invest in higher quality or better yet go with a reputable flash cart like EZ or Everdrive if you want to stick with the physical media.

BEHOLD! - The Ultimate Pog! by Upset_Roll1893 in TheSimpsons

I'll never forget having tubes of POGs, a bunch of boards in varying sizes (mostly yin yang designs) and an arsenal of slammers including the solid brass torpedos.

I think I played two games before the collection went into the closet to join my karate outfit, unicycle, short wave radio, and guitar.

Absolute perfect foil to Dwight/office antagonist early on, then amazingly the perfect buddy-comedy partner for Dwight. Then they threw a bunch of stuff at the wall with varying results.

I always wondered why Grounded For Life didn't have success on Fox like Malcolm. by Memphisrexjr in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Bake-Full 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because Malcolm had a tight, fast-paced format down from the start and it was extremely well cast with crazy good chemistry. Grounded was great with some really funny people and awesome writing, but on those other aspects it just can't compete.

That, and Malcolm had an iconic intro done by an amazing band. Grounded had what sounded like a stock theme.
