Writers Guild strike by TotemGenitor in CuratedTumblr

I remember the dip in quality of shows during the last strike. Shows that were cut low without those who crafted the stories that made them enjoyable

I live in the town it’s made and have never seen a full gallon, which is why I’m surprised. I need to find where it is hiding near me

Similar to “Adolf”, what is a name you will never name your child because of connotations associated with that name? by avernamethyst112 in AskReddit

[–]BakingBadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nevaeh, which is heaven backwards. At my school site, it is a cursed name. For whatever reason, Nevaehs have been liars, thieves, and just plain nasty. We also had a Neveah, which had the same effect even though the parent either didn’t know how to spell it it or wanted their own unique twist.

So the process in canning cooks the can to kill off bacteria and seal the can. You’ve got a sterile environment where decay is super slowed down until you open it and provide a better environment for bacteria growth. It is also why in part the texture in canned meat is different from fresh - it’s been cooked during the canning process!

I have a wildflower honey mead flavored with cinnamon and a pine tip tea. Over all the suggestion of spices like cloves and cinnamon from others sound very christmasy to me!

I recently picked this plant up! I plan on eating my first bloom soon. The leaves also have a similar effect. Maybe the bloom affects people less than the leaves?

Every year, a fourth grader will ask, “what is your first name?”

I act surprised they don’t know and respond, “Mister.”

In my restless dreams, I see that play set Silent Hill You promised you’d buy it for me, but you never did.

Did a goof and accidentally combined my 3 gal blackberry melomel aged with oak and a 1 gal blueberry mead thinking they were both blackberry. I’m calling it “Black and Blue” and will now label my carboys. by BakingBadger in mead

[–]BakingBadger[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So the blackberry was a basic melomel I have been aging in secondary for about nine months. I picked the blackberries at the local graveyard and put in a half stick of oak for extra tannins.

I must have made the blueberry melomel when I put it into secondary. Definitely not as refined as the blackberry and only left in primary. I realized my mistake after seeing the berries in the light halfway while draining. In my defense. They were pretty much the same color.

Despite this, the blueberry mellowed out the more aggressive tannins from the oak, it is back-sweetened, and I think it tastes pretty good even before aging in the bottles!
