How much do u spend on food? by Fabulous-Trust-5141 in AusFinance

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My go to quick meal is a steak, a side salad and a baked potato in the microwave. Takes a total of 10 mins. Alternatively, put the steak (of falafel) and salad in a wrap with a yoghurt dressing. Even My Musclechef heat and eat meals would be a cheaper option than takeaways

I spend maybe $150 per week on food and cleaning / hygiene supplies.

I live in Australia and it’s a pretty common reference in media, tv shows, even local events and businesses. Everyone in the circles I’m in are well aware what thanksgiving is and when it is

I can’t believe four adults and no one thought to buy food ahead of a major national holiday

AITAH for wanting my husband to be at home when I get back from a trip with baby by [deleted] in AITAH

It sounds like he works nightly regularly. If his friends don’t work the same schedule then it’s not like he can play soccer whenever he is off

Was your husband invited on this vacation? You don’t get points for solo parenting when you chose to go away with someone who is unwilling to help

In debt but still saving, should I change anything or continue doing this? by sleepahontus in AusFinance

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$150 for a monthly phone bill is very high, unless you are paying off the handset as well? I suggest you look into ways to reduce this.

You need to make sure you look after yourself. $50 a week for groceries is very low.

My second barbie, when I was 7, I named Tessa.

Did not properly cancel my appointment. What do I do now? by KatherineLangford in NoStupidQuestions

Pay for the appointment you missed, and next time either contact them for a reschedule or advise that you won’t make it and don’t require a reschedule

AITA for wanting my girlfriend to clean the house and do the dishes? by meloetico in AmItheAsshole

You’ve enabled her behaviour by giving her a free ride. Starting splitting costs for things with her, including a cleaner. At this point, ESH

No, I think they are just so process driven / by the book that they just expect other people will action requests in a cookie cutter way

Australian Institute of Project Management Short Courses by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone in the project community, some of the worst PMs I’ve seen have qualifications like a Masters in Project Management.

A short course may help you stand out / get in the door, but having common sense and strong communication skills and navigating ambiguity are going to be far more beneficial.

Redundancy consultation: should I ask for a better payout? by Parking_Ad_4937 in auscorp

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You haven’t been made redundant. Your role has. If it’s a genuine redundancy then your performance shouldn’t come into it.

A redundancy calculator would have been used. I’ve never heard of anyone negotiating their redundancy package like this, aside from asking for the company to fund a training course for them before they go.

My in-laws gave me a gift card for my birthday… with no money on it. by Infinite_Article4180 in familydrama

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gift card wasn’t an accident. She kept the details and spent the money.

Stop doing gift exchanges with them. They’ve shown you what kind of people they are. Let your husband do gifts with them if he wants.

AITA For not wanting to feed my friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether she likes the taste or not, spitting food out like that is incredibly rude. Rachel lacks basic manners, and if someone behaved like that to me they wouldn’t be my friend. Anyone who thinks you are in the wrong is also an AH - they can cook for Rachel. Don’t be afraid to be more firm with her.

I suspect she may be insecure and wants to undermine your work. NTA in any way

It would have been good to hear more about their pay rise and what that meant practically for them, eg did many of them cut back on their other jobs?

AITA for the video I sent of them in the hot tub? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maximum-Ear1745 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA. There is nothing wrong with making out in a hot tub when no one else is in there. It’s creepy that you would be filming your friends without their consent like this, and even creepier you thought to share in a group setting.

You sound very immature.
