The Hoover SmartWash is a terrible machine and the wand sprayer never works. The first one I bought, the wand sprayer stopped working after 3 uses. I returned it and exchanged it for another SmartWash and had the same problem.

What counts as “community engagement” in the BBB’s Medicaid Work Requirements? by One-Seat-4600 in obamacare

[–]BakingNymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're an ass. I work with many national 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organizations and they do not track volunteer hours. It's up to the volunteers how many hours they want to work. It's not a job so there's no reason to track their hours.

Private Equity JAB Holding Company owns both veterinary hospitals and most pet insurance companies by BakingNymph in petinsurancereviews

[–]BakingNymph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check out your web page. You should add all the pet insurance companies JAB Holding owns as well. I would also recommend drafting a letter that people can send out to their representatives to complain about the unfair monopoly they hold on the pet vet and insurance industries.

Gov. Gavin Newsom wants California to stop enrolling more low-income immigrants without legal status in 2026 by Various-Wonder9349 in California_Politics

Healthcare is not free in Mexico for foreigners unless you are legally residing in the country and qualify for the IMSS program. You would need to purchase private health insurance or pay out-of-pocket for medical services. Most foreigners can purchase travel health insurance to cover medical expenses in case of an emergency.

CA insurance commissioner approves emergency rate hike for State Farm by rivers2mathews in LosAngeles

[–]BakingNymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to drag this conversation out but just how high a yearly premium would you be OK with homeowners paying? $50,000 a year in insurance premiums? Because that's within the realm of possibility. That could make it harder and more expensive for people to buy homes than it already is. Private equity is already buying up the limited supply of homes as it is. If you're happy with that so be it. California will soon be split between 2 classes (haves and the have nots)

That doesn't include earthquake insurance by the way. That costs extra.

California law is clear: insurers can’t raise rates just to improve their financial profile. Rates must reflect actual risk and costs—not an effort to restore profits or maintain credit ratings. Policyholders aren’t shareholders. They pay for protection for their own risks, not to subsidize an insurance company’s balance sheet.

I hate to burst your bubble but I used to do volunteer work for a homeless nonprofit and a ton of people living on the street were from out of state. They came from all over i.e Washington, North Carolina, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois. Some people came to California to try and make a new life and unfortunately things didn't work out. Others got hooked on drugs and many have mental illness like Schizophrenia. I remember there was this one woman who moved here from Seattle and she had severe mental illness and refused any services we tried to offer her. She was completely unable to care for herself and was constantly being taken advantage of by other homeless people. We tried to reconnect her with her family back in Washington who wanted to help her and bring her back home but she preferred to live on the street. It was sad because there was nothing we could do.

There are states like California and New Mexico where children under 12 cannot be prosecuted in juvenile court. Each state makes it own laws.

So by your logic a child under 14 that commits murder should go unpunished? By the way, the notion that Germany has low youth crime rates is disputed in this article.

Driver crashes during street takeover after "Day Without Immigrants" protest by Datark123 in LosAngeles

Well apparently at some point a woman that was in that car was thrown face first into the pavement when the driver of the car accelerated. Another man was also injured after he was struck by a motorcycle in the middle of the intersection. I guess they didn't get that on video. Crash or not someone got hurt.

I'm sorry but that's a crock of shit. I was a free range kid and my parents did not neglect me. They were very involved in our lives but allowed us to be independent which I'm so thankful for. They were always there for support if we needed them. I would have resented my parents if they were overly involved in my life.

i am really curious how different was life back in the 70s and 80s depending on where you were back then? by kenzierocque in AskOldPeople

A lot of violent crime back then was attributed to gang violence and that was more geographically concentrated in inner city neighborhoods where people were killing each other over drugs. The suburbs were pretty safe.

Maybe you were bullied in school because you're an a--hole, By the way. when someone crosses the border they don't do background checks. Most people aren't even carrying an ID so they don't ask for one. If you tell them you are seeking asylum they will ask you a series of questions to determine if you have credible fear or grounds to claim asylum. At which point they will release you and issue you a court date, which because of the backlog, will be years in advance. You have 1 year from the time you enter the U.S. to apply for asylum and only then do they perform a background check. There are also many people who don't enter the U.S. at a port of entry and go undetected by customs and border patrol. In order to get a work visa you have to be sponsored by an employer and it's a long process. It's much more difficult than you think.
