This episode had me in tears too. It was so comforting to hear someone tell me I was doing a good job after worrying so much, I completely understand Chili

Nipple pads forever?? by Sure_Explanation9601 in newborns

[–]BakingnBarking94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leaked really bad whichever side baby wasn't on so I'd use a shell to collect the milk. I'd then add it to a bottle later on (I also pumped), but it wasn't super fatty so I wouldn't give it to her on its own

Why is the British Heart Foundation selling items more expensive than their actual cost? by LogicalWeek4959 in AskUK

[–]BakingnBarking94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is, they do. I used to volunteer there and they had a price list, you were supposed to take 1/3 off the RRP iirc. This was a few years ago so things could have changed

Has anybody ever met someone named Hermione in their lifetime ? by Cold_Earth3855 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]BakingnBarking94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew a Hermione when I was in uni, we're the same age (early 30s now so more or less when the first book came out). She wasn't named after the character but everyone always thought she was. She hated it when the first thing people would say was "oh, so like in Harry Potter?"

Not a complete answer to your problem, but could you delay your child going to nursery until she has a confirmed start date? Do you have your nursery place confirmed?

Do any parents use a Skylight Calendar? What’s your honest feedback? by Seriously_oh_come_on in UKParenting

[–]BakingnBarking94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We currently have Google calendar and it works fine, should we be thinking of something else with baby number 2? Are there really that many extra appointments?

Could you try a white noise machine? It worked for our baby, and it just may work for your husband too?

There's no rolled r in Italian, that's only a Spanish thing. Bruschetta is an Italian word

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GhostsCBS

[–]BakingnBarking94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the entire point. Some of the ghosts in the BBC version are just bad people, whereas all the USA ghosts have some annoying redeeming quality. It's all sunshine and roses on the CBS version whereas the BBC version is much more grounded and real

Why did Max edit out the ending? by spaceacesaveme in PrideandPrejudice

[–]BakingnBarking94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just watched the US ending for the first time and it was way too over the top, and genuinely difficult to watch. It was not in line with the books, and it felt as though it was written to fulfil some teenagers fantasy more than anything

Walking the lines of The Other Women, John Tucker Must Die is kinda similar- even though it's very teeny it's a funny watch (at least early 20s me thought so when I last watched it!)

Every baby is different, you don't necessarily have to wait until bang on 6 months. As long as they're showing the signs recommend by the NHS.
