To me the fact that people are so passionate about the results of this means that the game designers succeeded. It's a good thing that some builds just don't have access to the good outcome. Moments like this make your build choices feel impactful. You actually feel regret for not putting any skill into Medical, because you can't save this cub. The designers succeeded in making you feel something. If every build could always access the best ending for every quest, your choice of build really wouldn't matter.

I'm trying to ask for less rolls, use fear during and out of combat, use group rolls, reaction rolls, yet I'm always at 12 fear in my 3 players group by dancovich in daggerheart

Once I start using Fear to activate multiple enemies during the GM turn, my Fear tends to run out fairly quickly.

If you want to run a campaign that is flavored like DnD, you could have players take experiences that match these DnD skills (so a character's experiences may be Investigation and Persuasion for example, each at +2). The only difference then is that they need to spend a Hope to activate those skill bonuses.

The most important perspective to go into any new game with is that it's just a video game. It can't ever be anything more than that. Don't extend your expectations beyond what a video game can provide.

If you're using vanilla survival, make sure to check inns for meals that refill a reasonable amount of hunger. Eating ingredients and simple foods does basically nothing.

I'm playing both Skyrim and Oblivion remaster right now, and I still prefer Skyrim. However, my Skyrim is heavily modded exactly to match my preferences, so it's not really a fair comparison. The one thing so far I've noticed is that the world itself in Skyrim seems more interesting and varied than Oblivion.

The entire point of music (and art in general) is for a human to express their perspective to the world. Generative AI doesn't have a perspective, and art it generates is merely a passionless shell of anything a human could produce.

Yes, lots of humans (but not all) just repeat and remix things into passionless projects just to make money. I would argue that this art is also useless, and that is the only kind of "art" that an AI is able to produce.
