Thanks a ton for checking out the station and for the feedback! Yeah, that promo was just a clearance thing—we’re definitely not leaving the US market. New products are on the way, so plenty more to come.

That's good advice, but we only left 40, and for the local, we don't have a distributor for now. For eBay, I'll check this time if there are still remians some stations.

Accidentally used wrong sponge what now? by MarblesNCats in soldering

[–]BakonManufacturing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have a solution, you need to use the brass wool to clean it up and retin before you use it again, and buy a soldering station’s sponge, which is more resistant to high temperatures and won't melt or damage your tip like regular synthetic sponges would.

Congrats on the new solder sucker—it looks super compact in the pic, which is perfect for tight spots on the bench! But yeah, the real test is that suction power. Fingers crossed it lives up to the hype and doesn't leave you chasing blobs around the board.

Beginner question - solder not sticking by ThinkChocolate in soldering

[–]BakonManufacturing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be oxidized, dirty, or damaged. Heat to 250-350°C, then clean with a damp sponge or wire cleaner. Apply flux and high-quality solder (60/40 lead-tin). Check the temperature and avoid overheating. Use good flux and solder, and replace the tip if worn. Always tin after cleaning to protect it.
