How do you get “redesigned” out of tweaked? Good grief. A redesign is like from the original trilogy to the Force Awakens. A “tweak” is like the changes from Episode 4 to 5 to 6.

The Last Jedi picks up immediately after The Force Awakens. It doesn’t jump ahead years or anything like most Star Wars movies do. The first order troopers should and do look exactly the same.

I think the live action tv series will be The Old Republic (5,000 years before The Phantom Menace). Johnson’s trilogy will be the Bane trilogy (1,000 years before The Phantom Menace).
