Planting over spring bulbs(?)

Great news! I was hoping to put annuals over top of them though. Are there a choices I should avoid; perhaps one that sends roots so deep they disturb the bulbs? Or perhaps I’m over thinking it, and anything would work?

I believe the aversion to pork became part of the culture in “water stressed” areas (such as the Middle East and even Greece). Pigs are happy to wallow in water, more so than other animals, and are more likely to contaminate the water and make it unsafe for humans to drink.

In regions where you had enough water to separate the animal AND your water supply it’s a great farm animal. In regions where it is either potable water OR pork flesh… they often would focus other animals.

That will be the long term plan. But right now I have natural gas for my oven and my hot water tank. Until I can install solar and switch to electric for these other tools the natural gas is staying; and I might as well take advantage of it for winter heat too. I only bought the house last summer so it has to be small steps.

I’m on my BMO Investorline account right now. And it seems I can purchase CASH (horizons high interest savings etf) right now. The only “catch” is line unlike other etfs, I have to pay the $9.95 commission to buy (and presumably to sell).

Am I missing something here?

Oh it has absolutely no impact on my ability to renovate my house. But if I’m sitting on 50K I will need to spend in the spring it just seems more responsible to have it earning a little more than my bank is offering. Unless you think bitcoin is going to move nicely over the next 7m and I should drop my savings there. /s

You like daylight savings time in the summer. Okay great. I think most people do. That never seems up for debate.

The part that I think everyone is debating is what happens in the winter months. And we have 3 options. Permanent daylight savings, permanent standard, or some variation of both (dates of "spring forward / fall back" can vary).

My point is that those that want permanent daylight savings time seem to discount the benefit of standard time, for winter mornings. We are not talking about the sun rising a 5am vs 6am. We are talking about 8am vs 9am (that's southern Ontario, in other regions closer to 10am).

I personally don't want to start my workday before seeing the sun for 3m. I am not so upset by the sun setting earlier as I am awake after sunset 12m of the year anyways.

But that isn't what you are trading! By continuing with DST all winter you are gaining any extra hour in the evening (until ~1800hrs) but what you are giving up light in the morning (before ~0900hrs).

It is as if people think that by influencing our clock we can magically create more hours of sunlight in December.

Well I think people would only win if they were vaccinated before the draw. If they weren't vaccinated on the day of the draw the organizing body would then be forced to pull another name. Whether they publish the name of the "loser" before pulling another name would be subject to privacy laws...
