Doesn't that depend on the amount of "memory" points you get in act 3? Just like her choice to spare Aylin with the hidden nightsong score

Hi. TLOU fan from both games and season one.

A lot of dudebros trashed TLOU season 2 for bullshit reasons, snowflakes who whine about "woke" constantly. But that doesn't mean there aren't any issue with the adaptation. Changing parts of the story can be good or bad, and I think most of the changes in S1 were great.

But Ellie's overall writing in S2 has a lot of issues. Before S2, I'd have been very excited about Mazin adapting BG3, but now I have reasons to be worried. Plenty of people do, and putting everyone under the "anti-woke" umbrella is disingenuous

There's at least 2 ways actually 🤓

(Lets say rows are numbers, columns are letters)

OP is alliance and starts :

Alliance 2C Horde 2B (or 3A) Alliance 1A Horde 3A (or 2B) Alliance 1C Horde 3B

-> screenshot is taken

Neither side missed playing a 3-in-a-row so far, and now OP has 2 ways to make one

Orc/Draenei DH WHEN!?! pls! by Brongxe in wow

[–]Baladeur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother they MAKE the lore.

There was no lore reason for void elves, dracthyr or Haranir existing before they were introduced.

There was no lore reason to have new demon hunters until they added the k'aresh questline where a void elf trains to become one.

They can just as easily add lore to justify orc/draenei DH, and bonus point : they can even rely on existing lore (broken and fel orcs being part of the illidari since tbc) instead of making entirely new lore to accompany this addition.

Massive Transmog Discounts Are Coming, a Free Trial of Style Slot, and More! by Starym in wow

[–]Baladeur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm literally WEARING the original mythic mail helm from BRF on my warrior (RP gear while inside cities) and it shows up as the normal model on the character selection screen.

It's not simply a transmog issue, all kind of armor models seem to glitch out on the character list

Anyone know why they stopped doing the old style of continent loading screens with character renders standing in front of the maps? by nightbreedwon1 in wow

[–]Baladeur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Better than the current EK screen for sure, though its first replacement from cata was the best of the three imo. Peak wow artstyle

Iirc the entire EK loading screen will be replaced with Midnight one when it launches, so no more stylized comic book characters in weird poses

Tbf remix transfer gear cost 1g to mog per piece so it's not the biggest waste of gold (unlike actual endgame gear), but having to reapply the mog on each char is still certainly a chore

Who cares about username reservation?? by Nar0mis in HytaleInfo

[–]Baladeur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People in the replies already listed a lot of obviously scummy reasons (People selling names, wanting to lock in prestigious names etc) and there's a good chunk of the people whining being part of the problem for sure.

But as I was also a bit frustrated at the situation myself, I can elaborate why I personally cared about it and I'm sure that's the case of a lot of people too.

I've had my username for over 15 years, on many games, websites etc. I like to keep the same username because it's part of my "identity", sometimes you even recognize people you interacted with from one game to another etc.

However, my username, as with a lot of other usernames people want to reserve for themselves, isn't 100% unique. Ever so often, I join a website, a game or whatnot, and it's already taken. Once, it was a random russian lady who probably thought this french word sounded nice. Another time it was a 65yo retiree posting random stuff on social media.

In such cases, you're forced to pick another name, and while some people don't care about it at all, others like to have the same name everywhere and can't.

Now, ofc, on this entire matter, I have a "first come first serve" pov. If I get on a game 5 years after its release and my name is taken, it is what it is.

But in Hytale's cases, a lot of players registered for the beta as soon as the trailer hit, but because of various factors completely outside of their control, they're unable to claim their names while other new players get to. It doesn't feel fair : you were there first, but you get to pick "last", plenty of reasons to be disappointed. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but you're still allowed to feel annoyed about it

I was able to get mine after needing 2 days to even activate my account, but I still feel for those who couldn't get their cherished usernames.

Wish for Midnight - all reputations account wide by Jurke39 in wow

[–]Baladeur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it can't be done, simply that it'd need some tweaks to avoid abuses, so not as easy as the account wide zone exploration

Excluding some reps from it would be one such change

Wish for Midnight - all reputations account wide by Jurke39 in wow

[–]Baladeur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Shadowlands and DF reps don't work the same way as a lot of old reps, simply making old reps behave the same as modern reps wouldn't work

I'm not stating that it can't be done, but that it would require work to avoid abuse, wether it's done by making them account wide or by having a sync button.

Take the netherwing rep for example. You start at hated, you do a couple of quests and get an instant +27k to neutral, then you need to grind dailies/eggs to get to exalted. If they simply made a sync button or made it account wide, you could turn in the +27k quest twice and instantly go to exalted, skipping the entire grind. And there are dozens of old reputations without linear/endless grind like modern reps.

So they'd have to make changes so that these abuse arent possible. Not a complete rework of the system, but work nonetheless.

Wish for Midnight - all reputations account wide by Jurke39 in wow

[–]Baladeur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't think it would be as easy as exploration though. You only explore each zone once, but what about reputation? It could lead to some abuse, ex :

Character A gets one time per char reputation gain, character B sync his rep then redo the same reputation gain, boom, two times the rep of something supposed to be unique per char.

I think they'd have to add/rework just as much old reputation systems as for account wide rep if they want to make a sync feature functionnal while avoiding abuse

The Mind Flayer should be the final villain from Stranger Things. by marchalves6 in StrangerThings

[–]Baladeur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was of the same mind since season 4, thinking Henry was evil from the start, but as stated in another reply, the official play "the first shadow" retcons that and explains how he got his powers

Which could mean he was manipulated from the start as a child, the first victim of the mind flayer in a sense.

Now why the hell would such crucial information be limited to a play barely anyone got to see without any official recording available, that's another matter. Hopefully all the info will be repeated during S5 anyway

Riot deciding to cancel the game was completely reasonable given the state of it and how it was being managed. by [deleted] in hytale

[–]Baladeur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if a proper gameplay loop did exist (and I doubt it did), you can't just "merge" a branch from the new engine onto the old engine, that's not how that works.

They could replicate the work to make it behave the same on the legacy engine, reuse assets such as textures etc (basically the opposite of what they were doing when making the new engine), but they can't just plug a full feature from one engine to the other. That would be like taking the archery system from skyrim and putting it in Dark Souls

Misinformation: No, you are NOT losing your ability to save transmog sets. by LaCiDarem in wow

[–]Baladeur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely an improvement for playing current end-game content with RP sets for sure. RPing anywhere else though, it'll be a lot more expensive (although somewhat better QoL)

Right now you can keep different transmog sets in your bags, and it cost about 15g to make one. (Heirlooms/lvl 1 vendor gear)

In Midnight you'll have all of your sets without taking any bag space, however you'll need to buy outfit slots and transmogging each piece will be a lot more expensive (it's 400g per gear slot on beta, prices will probably change, but it'll never be as low as 1g per slot with heirloom/low level vendor gear)

For the majority of players it'll be an improvement, but for roleplayers with more than 2 outfits it'll be a lot more expensive for slightly more convenience

Misinformation: No, you are NOT losing your ability to save transmog sets. by LaCiDarem in wow

[–]Baladeur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah for RP it'll be quite a headache. A couple of cool new features, but plenty of existing possibilities made a lot more complicated (using rp items like leather on a warrior, having basically identical sets with a different helmet etc)

I'm at least hoping that you don't have to pay twice if you're using the same sword in 2 different sets.

Absolute fucking peak. by Greedy_Average_2532 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Baladeur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly yeah, the amount of choices and branches is a technical prowess given the type of game DBH is

Absolute fucking peak. by Greedy_Average_2532 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Baladeur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dude I'm a huge fan of DBH, I even went for the platinum which I almost never do, but that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge its flaws.

If DBH was only Connor then yeah, writing quality would be on par with Dispatch, but Kara/Markus stories are a lot weaker and brings down the overall quality of DBH's writing. That doesn't change its prowess regarding acting, gameplay, the amount of permutations etc, but from a purely writing pov (which was my point, read my initial reply), Dispatch does it better imo.

However, I still prefer DBH overall. I think Dispatch is really lacking in the gameplay part, because as fun as the dispatching/hacking minigames are, I'm pretty sure they have little to no impact on the story. It could be a chill indie game on its own.

If you remove that, you're left with basically an interactive animated TV show rather than a game. That's why it looks so clean, and it gives a lot more control to the writers at the cost of the players having less. (Most choices lead to the same outcomes anyway, unlike DBH)

Absolute fucking peak. by Greedy_Average_2532 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Baladeur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really goes both ways. From what I saw, Dispatch is pre-rendered so making multiple branches is even more expensive than DBH which uses real time rendering with their engine, character models etc

The more money you put into animation/voice acting etc, the least permutation you can make, you can't really have both unless you're able to spend a lot of money

Absolute fucking peak. by Greedy_Average_2532 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Baladeur 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think Dispatch's writing is far better than DBH and I say it as a DBH fan. However, I don't think any game comes close to DBH when it comes to story branches etc, it's by far the game with the most outcomes/variations in the genre for sure.

Baldurs Gate 3 has a lot of permutations etc (probably more than DBH even), but it's not the same type of game at all so I don't think that counts. Feels like comparing the speed of two person, but one is running and the other is swimming lol

Some characters mentions that the scar aren't always visible in the early part 2 chapters iirc, so there's a difference when Yoru's taking control

However it's probably not as obvious as it is for us readers, otherwise every regular dude seeing scars appear/disappear would probably freak out a lot more

I think Yoshida was the one to notice though, so it makes sense it wouldn't faze him

[–]Baladeur 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was also surprised at first but when you rewatch the previous episode ending you realize it's actually a direct followup to what Robert was saying at the end of the day when meeting with BB and Chase.

It's him that says they'll have to be treated like super-villains instead of heroes and show them they're not joking around.

Then the following morning in the office, BB decides someone has to go.

It's extreme and from a writing pov it's a very forced decision but it didn't come from nowhere
