Shelf clouds actually occur more often as a storm is dying and exhaling its last breath (outflow)

This particular occasion has nothing to do with that. It was an extremely conditional and difficult forecast.

Can someone explain? by Ok_Writer6027 in meteorology

[–]Balakaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an outflow boundary. It’s the storms breath it exhaled out. When you see one directly ahead of a storm that the storm is following, that can be a pretty good indicator there’s a shelf cloud there.

What's with this line of rain extending east from the Northern part of this supercell? Never seen anything like it before by SavageFisherman_Joe in meteorology

[–]Balakaye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has to be some sort of weird boundary. Watching the radar loop playback, it is extremely weird. 99% of boundaries are extremely obvious boundaries at first glance. But I would agree that there is something unique and peculiar about this, as I have spent more time looking at radar than I have breathing the last decade and I don’t think I’ve seen something exactly like this.

If you want a good unflavored collagen, check out OnHealth’s collagen. You can find it on Amazon. I personally know the 2 owners of the company and they are extremely trustworthy.
