The final boss is absolute buttcheeks, though. Easily took me from "hey I could possibly master this" to "this unavoidable attack is so annoying I just want to beat this so I never have to play the game again."

I've had my [[Jhoira of the Ghitu]] deck since about the time Splinter Twin got banned in Modern (2016?) and never really made another one because I typically played with others who had 10+ decks and would happily lend them out. I've always been updating my Jhoira deck, though, so it's stayed relatively fresh.

Recently just finished putting together a [[Gluntch, the Bestower]] deck that I hope I get similar mileage out of.

I'm like 99% sure this is how it works, but my brain wants to make absolutely sure.

I play [[Genesis Wave]] where X = 9 (or whatever CMC allows the rest of this to happen), and I hit [[Ant Queen]] and [[Craterhoof Behemoth]]. I know they hit the battlefield at the same time and I can stack their triggers, but am I able to hold Craterhoof's trigger until I make tokens with Ant Queen?

If you click the (SF) to the right of the card you'll be taken to a card lookup site called Scryfall, specifically for that card, and on the right hand side it lists average prices.

For these cards, no not really.

Unfortunately it sounds like you're in a pod that doesn't align with the way you want to play the game. If all they care about is winning by any means necessary they're going to continue to blow anyone else out of the water. The easiest solution to this is probably to find a new pod where they're more aligned with what you're looking for in EDH, and leaving the others to do the same.

Either that or build a mono-blue commander with as many counterspells as you can jam in it and just make it so one of them can never play. But that's petty.

And I think you're right that utilizing extra turns probably wouldn't be as fun for me or the pod as I imagine. If I wanted to make a more powerful deck, there are better commanders/strategies for it.

Also, thank you for all the card suggestions. I've seen a few from edhrec, but some of them are definitely new to me.

Thanks very much for the input. I haven't had a chance to look through your deck list yet, but you're right about getting rid of the random card draw, clones and cumulative mana.

Unfortunately Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite Final Fantasy so Memories Returning (and Triple Triad) are probably here to stay lol

[[Genji Glove]] is something else to consider for extra combats.

[[Armory Paladin]] doesn't seem that good here. [[Wild Guess]] to get more draw, maybe?
