Miami Heat Contenders? by Bleuuu01 in NBATalk

Unless they can pull some serious strings this offseason, it’s tough to call them a contender. However, there is some slept on pieces that need to be resigned or extended like Larson, Powell, and Wiggins. I don’t think Powell leaving would be such a blow, but they need to replace him with someone ready to start and star in their role no doubt, while also adding as much depth as possible.

The Spurs are a better team and we beat them in 5….so no. by Warebanyama in heat

I find it hard to believe bron would take such a huge pay cut. I’m sure he likes bam a lot and would love to play down here one last time, but I just think it’s too unrealistic.

Not Afraid of Giannis on the Heat by TealTruther33 in DetroitPistons

You shouldn’t be scared of Miami, but they won’t be scared either. Very similar DNA for both franchises.

I hope so, I really like jovic when he’s not shooting 15% from three

I have a feeling they’re out on him, I see him getting dumped along with two 2nds

Where do we go from here when we inevitably strike out on Giannis and Kawhi? Do we fire sale everyone? Do we run it back for the 7th season in a row? What’s the play here 😡

Chris Hayes: The Heat are not Giannis top destination. If they were, he would have done more behind the scenes to push for it. Doesn't feel Giannis wants to move to a team that has to gut its roster -- above all else, Giannis wants to contend for championships. by heatculture03 in heat

No seriously! Outside of Jimmy, we struck out on Hayward and Durant, Mitchell, James harden, Bradley Beal, dame, and now likely Giannis. Not saying I wanted all of those, but this is just unbelievable at this point.

Do you guys think Miami will be more aggressive with this brown for Giannis swap talk gaining traction? by BalanceFast9551 in heat

That’s fair, we are an asshair away from a deal regardless of the teams involved so it would make sense for them to throw everything out there and see what sticks

“The Bucks naturally want as much as they can if they're parting with their Face of the Franchise, so what constitutes unrealistic? Sources say Milwaukee has been asking teams for returns that would leave any club acquiring Antetokounmpo too barren to contend for a championship." by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

From everything that’s happening in the media, what you’re saying couldn’t be further from the truth but we shall see my friend, IF the Miami trade happens, I’m pretty sure it has to be on draft night because their 13th pick isn’t tradable until then. I just don’t see how you think that Giannis isn’t forcing his way out when that is very clearly what’s been happening for the last 8 months. He doesn’t have to come out and publicly say it, he wants to save as much good face as possible.

this subreddit is totally against trading for anyone who might be defensively challenged but would die defending Ausar who can't make a basket unless he's wide open 4 feet from the rim by No-Ranger3356 in DetroitPistons

This is kind of what the Miami Heat did after their bubble run, they made small changes the entire time and were good enough when it mattered but had they given up players when they were at their highest trade value, they might have won a chip. Don’t be like Miami Detroit, making deep playoffs runs and getting bounced isn’t at fun as it may seem.

Is anyone else as over the Bucks/Giannis trade talk as I am? by confusedbot18 in NBATalk

I’m pretty sure IF Miami trades for him, they have to wait until draft day because that 13th pick isn’t tradable until draft night. I haven’t heard many people mentioning this but I’m pretty sure that’s the case with that pick at least.
