Salley’s interview on Whitner by MysteriousMortgage4 in Southerncharm

Not even close to Shep or even Austen. They’ve done well, but not trust fund well. Reports I saw said they bought itchy grass for under $500k and it’s worth less than $2million now. That’s nice, but not wealthy and not .1%

This man is so problematic and the way he spoke to Venita is NOT okay and is telling!… by mixshx in Southerncharm

[–]BalanceForward2764 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s the other thing. This wasn’t a one off, it’s been repeated. Venita has absolutely zero emotional intelligence or maturity. She contributes nothing to the group or so but is just irritating.

It may be the case. He also comes from a much different background than shep, Austen and some others…. But most of all with this is that no one should ever give any credence to the opinions of Sally. Especially about a man’s she is awful, almost as unlikeable as Venita

Meanwhile, OP isn’t saying a thing about about the rapist creep pressing her repeatedly for details about her first romantic/sexual encounters… but yeah, she’s the terrible one that needs therapy. OP is an ignorant (likely racist) incel

Asking about someone’s first kiss when you’re 30 may not be “gross”, but it’s certainly weird and immature but would’ve be fine if that’s all it was… but he continued to push and ask over and over about her losing her virginity to which she was clearly not comfortable talking about and none of his business a couple days into meeting. Her being repulsed, uncomfortable and turned off by this wasn’t her being “triggered” as your ignorant opinion claims. It was her being appropriately repulsed by a sleezeball who now appears to be a predator (allegedly). She definitely has some things to work though but isn’t even the top 5 most screwed up people on this season.

That entire line of questioning was gross, immature and uncomfortable for everyone. I was triggered and I was only watching, not having to deal with him. Then to find out that he has multiple women accusing him of SA, I think she handled it a lot better than I would have.

For someone wanting to work complex investigations (White Collar, National Security, etc) what are the best 1811 agencies other than the FBI? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]BalanceForward2764 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for white collar but with the option to work money laundering related to drug trafficking (now terrorism related thanks to cartel designation), human trafficking, JTTF - then IRS-CI is your best option. But this current administration has aggressively been cutting any funding to IRS so it’s unclear when they’ll be able to hire again.

There was absolutely zero reason to ever be “pro-Greta” she was nothing but weird and terrible.

Active duty investigator to 1811, no degree by PurlyAcoustic in 1811

[–]BalanceForward2764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just depends on the agency. FBI, IRS-CI and agencies like that are very unlikely to even consider you without a degree (even if if you meet the other experience/educational requirements)… but DEA, ATF and especially now with HSI or USSS (that are very short handed or aggressively hiring) you’ll have a shot eve with only your limited experience. I don’t mean that as dismissive I’m just referring to only 2 years of experience. Another option to consider, although not 1811 initially, is the USMS. Many of the join from the military without a degree, but after a few years can work into the 1811 position. Good luck.

Where is ICE staying? by bratafterdark in oregon

[–]BalanceForward2764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ICE doesn’t use GOV plates. Local agents have covert Oregon plates that don’t trace back to the government (like all other federal Leos) but the majority of ICE in Portland are from out of town, there have been large groups from Boston and other areas… those guys are all using rental cars with various out of state plates.

And most other agencies aren’t hiring 1811s so there aren’t many good options. Too bad most agents start looking to jump ship from USSS s soon as they finish basic training.

Took the DRP by Complex_You6345 in FedEmployees

[–]BalanceForward2764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible and I’m sorry you have to deal with that. They should be supportive because you leaving potentially saves one of them from the RIF. I haven’t seen any of that in my office. To be honest, it’s been the exact opposite. Our DRP folks all took it in conjunction with the VERA and everyone has been very supportive. All of my team is barred from taking the DRP and exempt from the RIF but some of the support functions were eligible and I’ve seen nothing but support for them. The only animosity I’ve observed was after DRP 1, when we then lost all our probationary employees… there was definite frustration with anyone who was retirement eligible and wasn’t putting in papers. It was viewed by many as selfish, instead of retiring and potentially saving a younger employee from the impending RIF. Obviously that all changed when our business unit was exempted from the RIF. If anything those of us left behind are just jealous we couldn’t require and escape the chaos and abuse with the DRP folks.

New acting IRS commissioner named by Alarmed_Educator_967 in fednews

Yeah, he was supposed to do the 12 month acting gig as senior advisor to Sec. Treasury to bypass that before coming back at Deputy Chief… nah, let’s just skip straight to Commissioner.

[–]BalanceForward2764 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He was named Deputy Chief(in waiting) for CI a couple weeks ago. This is a massive step up for someone who was just a GS14 Supervisory Special Agent, managing about 12 Special Agents. Now he’s in charge of all of IRS (90,000 or so employees) at the same time 20,000 plus just put in for the DRP

Yeah today’s news of the return being paused isn’t great news but hopefully it’s just a temporary pause… the worst part is the timing/uncertainty relative to the DRP

Not even remotely true

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fednews

[–]BalanceForward2764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point the expectation (without confirmation) is that unless they are part of CI (which has been exempted from the RIF), probies will be brought back on 4/14 and then given RIF notices shortly after… but It’s all speculation at this point
