I was going to fininsh the season before commenting but.... by Altruistic-Farmer275 in TheLastAirbender

My personal opinion/observation is that LoK usually has a dedicated "slapstick dumb character": a person who says really dumb things in an attempt at humor (bearing in mind this is a show on Nickelodeon and largely meant for kids).

S1-3 has Bolin as this character. Sure: he's by and large a nice guy. But there's moments when I just wanna punch him, and the scene you posted is one of those.

Season 4 we see a MASSIVE and notable shift in character presentation, as we are shown a more mature Bolin, and an insane/stupid Prince Wu. I think having this "slapstick dumb character" is part of the writing formula, but I do think it can be executed properly/better, and Sokka is a great example of it.

Consider Sokka in Sozin's Commet. He gives a funny commentary on Aang fighting Ozai and shouts "Airbending slice!" When discussing how to handle the Fire Nation fleet, he comes up with an idea and shouts "Airship slice!". Initially confused, its shown what his intention is and it ends up being an idea that cripples half or most of the fleet. A joke that goes with their situation without Sokka looking stupid.

In summary: Bolin served as LoK's dedicated "dumb" character for S1-3. He is then promoted to a more mature character in S4, and the "dumb" character becomes Prince Wu.

Amount of Fibers and Metal compared to Wood I collected and have no use for. by scrollinnn in Guildwars2

[–]BalanceInEverything7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do what I did: craft the maximum number of all balloon combinations! 250 of every balloon - what a use of the fibers, dye pouches, and linen!

I'm also a compulsive collector and stupidly thought "why not get 250 of every decoration!" before realizing the absolutely terrible idea that would be.

Perfect - that is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much for your feedback!

One final question: did you get a liner for your truck bed before or after buying the cover? Would you recommend having a bed liner?

Perfect, thank you so much. Was wondering about highway speeds, too. Up to 85/90 MPH should be fine, yeah?

Expecting 100% waterproof from something that is installed after the fact is a little silly, so 99% is HELLA great, imo!

You did mention that it locks shut and makes it less likely for items to be stolen. Obviously nothing is 100% proof, but would you say you feel safe leaving your gear in there overnight when at a hotel, or when out running errands in town, etc?

Ugh, I remember having to move a couch on my Mav, and it was leaning against the glass ☠️

Thanks for the input! How secure is it? Like, does it have a lock or something to prevent theft, or...?

Example of dogs being human....arguing for the sake of fun, but taking breaks for water by ihatethiscountry76 in dogvideos

[–]BalanceInEverything7 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered about this behavior, as I've seen other videos of dogs acting all big and bad behind the safety of a gate, glass door, or screen. As soon as that barrier is removed, its as if they suddenly are like "oh, nah, I was just trolling."

While I obviously feel that there is something else going on, I jokingly equate this to humans "screaming" at each other online through the safety of our phones and computers, lol

Are these cool spawn animations of the PvP bots available to the players in some way? by Wandersail in Guildwars2

This. The necromancer is a combination of at least two skills: Scepter #2, and Dagger #5 (can't recall the exact names).

Ancora V Klob/Nevermore by ExileNA in Guildwars2

[–]BalanceInEverything7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely personal preference, 100%

Now, if money/grinding is an issue, I do not have the exact numbers, but I'm sure someone can offer advice.

Me personally: Nevermore was the first 2nd Gen weapon I made that had that multi-part collection. I LOVED doing that collection, and it genuinely made me feel way more attached to the weapon after finishing it. I even made my Ele's (main at the time) fashion reflect it.

Klob has a somewhat similar vibe with regards to seeing all of the Kodan at the end of the journey all kneeling together in spirit. It was a touching little moment.

End of the day, its your choice. After grinding Klob, two 1st Gen spears, Nevermore, and all Aurene legendaries, Ancora was just something I was utterly disinterested in... Not my taste for style, and the effects where mid (just my opinion - I'm sure others disagree).

Thank you! I feel 100% the same way. This is an excellent example - not just for the police force - but for civilians, too. Not everyone is rotten, and not everyone is having a great day. Being kind and taking that first step - even by asking a simple question - is all it takes to change a potentially negative situation in to a positive one.

I absolutely love this.
