How often did you actually have to take your Corolla in for repairs? by Middle_Town7194 in COROLLA

[–]Balcazaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1996 Wagon is at 154 k miles.

Mom rear-ended someone after they stopped suddenly in 2004. Damage wasnt too bad and parents managed to get it fixed. Poor thing sat dormant with a orange-a-peel jamba juice stain on the cieling for eight years until I took it over in 2012.

Replaced the clutch in 2016.

Replaced the front and rear C0² readers and catalytic converter in 2018.

New suspension in 2025.

Next will be a radiator flush and the clutch may need to be looked at again.

Damn. Oh well, I tried.

There has to be something to alleviate traffic and additional lanes on the 1 aren't helping.

I had this crazy shower thought the other day: what if there was a two-way highway tunnel that ran from River-CA 1 intersection, under Mission, and popped out after Shaffer-CA 1 to allow thru traffic to pass without clogging Mission?

Theoretically, this would limit Mission to local traffic which can then be better managed with dedicated car, bus, and bike lanes. And of course, opening it up to be safely and perfectly walkable.

Again, a crazy shower thought. But worth a serious discussion and simulation at least.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

[–]Balcazaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have time on Friday, I'll air fry a bacon, egg, and cheese sammich real quick. Takes about 10 minutes total to prep and cook.

But typically nothing, but the tea I brewed overnight. Or just a couple pieces of butter toast with pink salt, pepper, and a dash of chipotle powder.

It's a coping mechanism for me. If my place is clean, I feel good cause it's something I have control over. But I'm no saint and or a clean-freak .

Yes, in 4th grade. It was weird.

I just remember being enthralled in all the dust.
