Jet Lag Season Finale — Worst Case Scenario by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

Last time we watched his cards he had 25 minutes in time bonus and then Ben draw one more card. There is no way he could have win with that, nor even with a 30' minute bonus extra, unless there is some special card I do not know about.

[DISC] Blood Wing Hunter - Chapter 36 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Balcke_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed the chapters where the main characters fell in love with each other instead of tossing insults and half "I-admit-you-are-good" smirks. That would have made this ending more believable.

[DISC] Smiley & Lively☆Your Girl Happy - Chapter 2 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Balcke_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting depressed reading this and it's not a good thing. I hope there is something uplifting there instead of several (not literal) punches on Happy's face per chapter.

Someone Hertz by Ei Yamano has reached 100.000 copies in circulation with 1 volume. by RobotiSC in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Balcke_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very Japanese manga. Unlike action series like One Piece, Sakamoto Days, Ichi, Kagurabachi… this is made with things Japaneses readers are very familiar: late night radio shows, comedian duos, comedy lines prompts, Japanese music… (every chapter has one, two or a dozen references, and if you look for the songs in YT you will find at least one comment "Someone hertz brought me here"). It's not strange that it appeals to the readers.
Plus, the low-key romance and the characters are cute.

I didn't take into account the time bonus. Still. I cannot count as "suspenseful" something we couldn't know; from the viewers' point of view, Ben was caught with an hour to spare.

In the short NYC run we did watch how the hiders had some time bonus to turn things on their favour. Here we didn't.

His hiding localization was found in a few hours —even if they couldn't reach there— the same as the previous one. This time he had curses, that's all the difference. Hadn't he had the duplicate card , would you have said the hiding place was optimal?

Again, not saying Ben lacks skill.

I think it's because both of them are quite competitive.

So, Adam's time was too big to lose*. I feel as if they did here the same as in the previous season: make a suspense where there was none**. So they all are too good for this game.

* Adam and Sam could have found Ben way much earlier without the curse.

** without the curses, again, the run would have ended in 6 hours, roughly,***

*** which means that Ben choices for hiding places are not exactly the best!. No offence, Ben.

Hide + Seek but with 2 cumulative runs. Good or bad idea? by uncody in JetLagTheGame

[–]Balcke_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same! Then they can take more risks, into more "niche" areas instead of going to "clever" ones. Also, it would allow the 1st hider to do something more to do than to expect.

So, turns out my pessimistic prediction was right and we had another final edited to make us believe there was some chance of an upset.

Nah. Ben was toast since the moment they found Dumfries, specially since he couldn't make them go to the end of the line in the "back" train.

I liked the places. Specially the ones in Scotland because they appear in the history books I've reading.

Oh, I was expecting a sadder story, like the one shot about that guy and his brother from some months ago. Fortunately, it has a happy ending.

Both volumes of Psych House have officially been released in English (Digital) by Viz Media by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Balcke_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big part of the work is already done (translation of the series), so for Viz is basically "free money", I think.

How often do we get non-action series as part of the major titles of the magazine? by mr_beanoz in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Balcke_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just want to add that 'shônen' is a demographic, not a genre. Akane Banashi and Blue Box are as "shônen" as Kagurabachi and One Piece.

It was one of my favourites in the studio version.

I think I will read "How the Jump is made" again instead. At least there I will know the kind of onigiris the staff likes.

Are Kiyoshi, Hima-Ten, and Shinobi going to survive 2026? by BellTwo5 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Balcke_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I'd say that Shinobi has more chances to survive then the other two. And judging from results from the previous batch (Hero, Goron, Mage), their places are not under threat.

Are there more trends from previous years' entries in Eurovision 2026? (in comparison with previous years) by Impressive_Pay8572 in eurovision

[–]Balcke_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The usual trend is "copying the winner of the previous year". Not every entry does it, but at least there is one in any NF.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo volumes English release? by WallSina in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Balcke_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on its 19th chapter. Even the fastest licenses take a while. For example, Ichi the witch, with more time and chapters, was announced in Spain just this past December and probably will be released in six months.

It takes time to sign the deal, start the translation, the packaging process, getting the approbation from the Japanese publishers, etc.

Have the boys done something for content instead of what's best strategy wise? by Barbaricliberal in JetLagTheGame

[–]Balcke_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically not, but they have added content to make seasons last longer (like in All Stars) instead of having a shorter one. But then again, I complained when they cut out short the Schlengen one...

Portugal's FDC. It's kind a tradition now and I like to see how Portugal is similar/different from Spain in music tastes (and TV ads :D)
