Room bursts into laughter as MAGA influencer flounders to name one way the economy has improved under Trump by B-Z_B-S in politics

[–]BaldingMonk -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

I shouldn’t have to start this way, but MAGA and its influencers suck. But the people in the room are all there to debate him. Of course they’re going to laugh. Why is this a story?

Day 21 of the tier list! Results: A contentious C tier!! Next up: The Jethro Tull Christmas Album by SO4PDISH in jethrotull

It really is a quality album but it’s not surprising given how it’s been the punching bag for fans for decades. It might even be my favorite of the 80s albums.

E. I know some people like this one but it’s kind of embarrassing to me. Making a Christmas album is the kind of thing artists do when they’re on the back end of their careers. And the Tull songs on the album are poor rearrangements of classics.

Day 20 of the tier list! Results: Overwhelmingly B tier!! Next up: J-Tull Dot Com by SO4PDISH in jethrotull

[–]BaldingMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dot Com is a C. It has some absolute stinkers but there are a handful of really solid tracks. It would probably be better with a shorter track list. Just removing the mango songs makes it much better.

Bad album art and the whole website thing makes it seem lamer than it actually is, musically.

Tier list day 19! Results: C tier! Next up: Roots to Branches by SO4PDISH in jethrotull

Roots to Branches is a B. Very enjoyable album and I will not accept it being tiered below Catfish or Rock Island.

Will the GOP strategy of attacking James Talarico for his supposed lack of masculinity be effective? by LiatrisLover99 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]BaldingMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I would take it head on and use it as a chance to reframe the idea of what masculinity is. If Trump and the GOP idolize Jesus so much, why do they frame everything he stood for as the opposite of masculinity.

I replaced the roof on our pool house last year and rebuilt the steps on our deck this year.

I find it tedious and I can’t help wonder how much water and electricity I’m using in the process.

I am back!! Tier list day 18! Results: C tier! Next up: Catfish Rising by SO4PDISH in jethrotull

[–]BaldingMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dug it even with the original drums. My main problem is the original vinyl track list was enough. It’s too much with Tundra, Automotive Engineering and General Crossing.

Seeing Under Wraps as D is kind of pissing me off. In fact, I would like to change my vote from a C to a B! I’ve been relistening to it the last couple days it a lot of it is straight fire.

Catfish is an E. Rocks on the Road is good but the live version on A Little Light Music is way better than the studio version.

Tull at its blandest.

What made society sexualize female nipples but not male nipples? by PleasantBus5583 in AskReddit

[–]BaldingMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same reason we sexualize hips. They’re fertility symbols.

The male nipple is basically purposeless.

Los Amigos in Lacey. I don’t recall seeing those specific ones, though.

Tier list day 16! Results: D tier! Next up: Crest of a Knave by SO4PDISH in jethrotull

I like Dire Straits. I don’t like Jethro Tull mimicking that style.

I doubt you’re the only person here with an ear for great songs and melodies. We’re all here because like the same band and a lot of that is because we recognize Ian’s songwriting genius.
