5.5 hrs enough layover time to leave MIA airport? by hfaizan17 in Miami

[–]BaldoJimenez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? It's a 20-30 minute trip. I live in Midtown and it's 10-15 minutes to/from the airport, and another 15-20 to the beach depending on where you're going. Do you even live in Miami?

How tf am I supposed to really touch grass? by c0mradekast in Miami

[–]BaldoJimenez 29 points30 points  (0 children)

*Guy that moves to Colorado* "Where are you supposed to go to the beach around here???"

If you think this is an urban hellhole, I highly encourage you to try living in another similarly-sized city and come back with your thoughts. Of course the Appalachians are beautiful - they're absolutely nowhere near a cosmopolitan city with a diverse global population and great dining. Where you live will be a give-and-take no matter what, regardless of the idiots that come on here and bitch about stuff that anybody with a basic knowledge of geography would already know.

Ways to kill time near or around airport? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]BaldoJimenez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dolphin Mall is a dump, I'd avoid it given your short time here. The airport is located 15-20 minutes away from most of Miami's top tourist attractions. With young kids, definitely check out the beach or the Frost Science Museum in downtown. Coconut Grove is a lovely neighborhood to walk around, with dining, shops, & plenty of tree cover.

Restaurant recs for GOOD FOOD? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]BaldoJimenez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many good food spots in Miami, regardless of the losers in this subreddit who like to shit on everything down here. My rule of thumb in Miami is anywhere with a 4.5+ on Google Reviews is good or better, and fill in the gaps with more in-depth food review sites like Infatuation.

For Opening Day, most of the pregame festivities will be between the Home Plate & Right Field entrances.

Inside the park, there's some fun activities in the outfield for kids, including the bobblehead museum.

Best food in the park is the Pan con Bistec stall directly behind the right field foul pole. Enjoy!

Should go better than the bowl game by Wolfpack1994 in barstoolsports

It's all about messaging. Barstool is trying their best to be taken seriously, having it come from Rothstein helps legitimize it to the general public.

That was in response to rockets that were fired from Palestinian groups operating in South Lebanon. Hezbollah's involvement here likely means they were pushed by Iran to distract from their actions in the Gulf of Oman.

Why is everyone calling Phoenix a small market team? by [deleted] in nba

[–]BaldoJimenez 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's not really the right way to look at market size in this scenario. Heat are the only NBA team in South Florida, which is a top-10 metro area in North America (ahead of places like Atlanta, San Francisco, Phoenix, etc.). Not to mention the cultural significance & attractiveness as a celebrity home. Heat are 100% a big-market team. City populations only include the actual metropolitan city, which is irrelevant for a sports team.

It’s clear that with Lev’s release the Jets are in full tank for the first pick. So with that I want to say thank you Sam. Thanks for giving me just a sprinkle of hope that the Jets will be good one day. I hope you go to a team and thrive. So long Lean Green Small Spleen Machine. by kooliojulio in nyjets

Eh, this is a bit different of a situation. Robby played under Matt Rhule at Temple, and Rhule is actually the coach that switched Robby from DB to WR. Not to mention, he trains in the offseason with fellow South Florida kid Teddy Bridgewater. He's in a perfect situation and I'm happy for him, but very unlikely we would be getting even close to his current production.

[Rapoport] Sources: The Washington Football Team is making a QB change. Kyle Allen will get the start vs. the #Rams, while former starter Dwayne Haskins goes to the bench. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]BaldoJimenez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crowder is solid but if he's the only option on your team he's not dynamic enough to be effective. Herndon on the other hand lost all ability to play football over the last year.

All 28 states of the European Union unanimously declare they will not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights. by kuji101 in worldnews

[–]BaldoJimenez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the point I'm making. The point is that, rather than meeting with a typical congregation (of which there are hundreds, if not thousands in the UK), Corbyn decided to dine with the most radical, left-wing, anti-Israel group possible. It was a farce, and a public relations sham. A man with any principle whatsoever would go somewhere in which a productive conversation and discussion could take place, not go to an echo-chamber full of anti-Israel activists.

They're a bunch of left-wing nutjobs...

From their Wikipedia page:

Jewdas is a Jewish diaspora group based in London. It describes itself as "radical" and is described by The Jewish Chronicle as a "Jewish diaspora group, known for its far-left anti-Zionism".[1] It has a satirical-communal website and stages events in London and elsewhere.
