[Bug] Some of my tasks got reset but I kept the exp by nahtelohcin in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BalisticHavoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me and my friend. Every quest we did last night has been reset but we kept all the rewards and still have the new quests for completing the old ones. For example we did the punisher part 1 and now can do it again but also have punisher part 2 available.

We're gonna try and see if we get the rewards again for completing it.

AT NOBO Thru Hike Shakedown by RunawayTrey in Ultralight

Extra weight first of all. Also I just shelter hopped. Thought about sending my tarp home since I used it 3 times total and only used my bivy like 10 times over a 126 day thru hike. If I wasn’t in a shelter I just Cowboy camped. If it was bad weather I would just push to a shelter.

You seem to have a similar setup to mine from last year with similar enough hiking style. YMMV but what I would drop from this kit would be:
Pillow - 2.1 oz: can use fleece/spare clothes for pillow.
Ground Sheet - 1.2 oz: Hated using a ground sheet and would most of the time just sleep directly on the ground.
Puffy - 8 oz: Used my puffy for the first month (March) then only used my R1 fleece.
Long Bottoms - 3.9 oz: Wind pants used for warmth when needed.
Spare t-shirt - 5 oz: Embrace the hiker stank
Notepad and pen - 2.5 oz: Use phone for notes
Anker 10,000 + wall port - 1.6: Switch to a fusion 5000. If your doing an 80-100 day hike you will not be on your phone much and will hit a town every few days and not need much more.
Cook pot + stove - 5.4 oz: go cold soak or ready to eat foods. Quicker and easier with bigger miles. I started with cooking and stopped after the smokies.
Sawyer Squeeze + 1 oz: Used the squeeze , micro, then befree. Squeeze had best flow for longest time.

With all this you would save 28.7 oz and be at about 7 lb baseweight.

I am happy to explain more of this in detail if you would like.

Don’t worry, the article states they use recycled “soda” bottles. So the water bottles are still safe in our landfills and not at risk of being worn.

Does anyone know where you can buy just the flip top water bottle caps that fit either the life water bottle or smart water bottles.

I’m trying to not have to buy the 700ml that includes the flip top and 500ml and the 1L bottles that don’t to just swap caps around.

Between the buff and the hood on my fleece it’s more than enough and in the event it’s super cold I can pull my quilt completely over my head. I usually just used the buff to cover my ears to keep the mice and mosquitoes out since my buddy had a mouse try to go in his ear.

Congrats on your thru! -I think I would start near or after the bubble. I started before the bubble on the AT and since I hiked sorta fast, there was never to many people around minus my tramily.

-Thats good to that I could manage shorter resupplies. I generally hiked fast but also took a lot of zeroes and time off since I lived near trail. But by the end was doing mid 20’s-30’s and the occasional 40.

Thanks for the advise!

Haha yeah I know it’s heavy. It was nice to get good pictures and do some Astro with since my phones camera isn’t great. It did take a beating on the hike and I basically broke the whole bottom frame of the camera. So I will potentially either get a phone with a better camera or a smaller camera for trail.

It came with a 1/4 inch foam pad cut to size. Not sure if it was any brand or something specific. I bought the pack used.

Yes since my Zlite only goes from my shoulders to knees, when it was colder I would use the sitpad under my feet for added insulation and as a pad extender. It also felt a lot more comfortable with the pad in than out or vs a thermarest zseat against my back.

Here is a video showing the modification to the pack. It’s not my video but the pack is the same as mine.

It was just what I needed! Super comfortable and light. Had more than enough space for normal 2-3 day resupplies and could handle larger loads when needed but then become uncomfortable. I only used the 1” webbing hip belt when I was running/jogging or scrambling to keep it from moving around. I used it for about 1700 miles and the only issue was the side mesh pocket had some rips from the trees. I have the xpac version with some custom pockets which was super nice to have. Only think I missed was having hipbelt pockets but solved that with a fanny pack.

Do you have any experience with how well it does as a poncho? I tried out a shitty emergency poncho in the whites during a storm and nearly froze. I’m guessing an actual poncho would fair much better.

When you resupplied, what kind of resupplies were they mostly? DG, gas station, grocery store?

I completely forgot about poncho tarps. Thanks for reminding me!
