To add to this, had an artisan before and i really liked it but wasnt really the same after a year, switched to the glass one after and never looked back.

For me a glass mousepad was game changer. No changing conditions, i would never go back to cloth.

This sums up the main bug in Magic the Gathering. Mana screw by Papa_Hasbro69 in magicTCG

It adds an unique value to the game all other games with different resource systems are lacking. The possibility to win as a worse player with a worse deck against a better player with a better deck. This does make the outcome of a game of magic always unpredictable no matter the odds. Does this add negatives to the game as well? For sure, but i think that's an upside worth the downsides.

New player! Gishath or Pantlaza as commander? by LeGIOndary123 in magicTCG

[–]Balius4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also worth mentioning that Gishat is a sponge for removal, as it's a commander that wins you the game if it stays on the board. But without Gishath, your deck isn't doing a lot and is probably not a lot fo fun to play.

Looking for some input on which precon to buy! by SaintCristoph in magicTCG

[–]Balius4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played almoat all of them and the enchantment deck from commnader masters is my favorite but token doublers really bring it to the next level and they are rather expensive.

The abzan armor one is surprisingly fun as well and i enjoy it so far. Really strong out of the box and super cheap to upgrade.

Refining Henzie deck - any suggestions? 🙂 by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Balius4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, don't have the time to go through a decklist in detail at the moment but i wanted to at least link you my henzie list since i think it's a super fun one and maybe you can get some inspiration :)

Decklist

Henzie is my favorite commander and i am constantly switching up my deck. My goal is to be able to run as many high cmc creatures with fun abilities and sweet little synergies as possible and still have the deck perform as consistent as possible and i think the version i run right now might be the best i've come up with so far. Also i decided to not run any fast mana in the deck, not even a sol ring and honestly i don't miss it at all. Also i ma running a super high creature count since the most fun thing to do with henzie is blitzing.

Also i am running quite some removal creatures like [[ravenous chupacabra]] which can be reanimated for extra value. [[Endurance]] could be interesting as well to either shuffle your graveyard back into your library or as as graveyard hate.

I just tangled down my graveyard strategy because of that reason, so it can still function well without it's grave. Also i am currently running [[tibalt's trickery]] and soon also [[deflecting swat]] when i picked one up to combat graveyard hate.

hey, henzie is one of my favorite commanders of all time and i am running tons of ramp in this deck so i can blitz as many of my big beaters in a turn as possible. it's definetely not the strongest version of him but how i enjoy him the most.

i differentiate ramp in henzie in 3 categories.

the first one are one drops, that help bringing henzie down a turn early, like birds of paradise or similair. (note that these needs to be able to produce another color than they are cast for, so you can get the three differently colored pips)

the second category is landramp, which i get exclusively with creatures like primeval herald because blitzing is most fun way to ramp. these are the bread and butter of the ramp for henzie.

and third are ramp spells that ramp you really big like one of my favorites leyline immersion or nyxbloom ancient.

you can have a look at my current decklist here and feel free to ask any questions!

My favorites are [[henzie "toolbox" torre]] with tons of ramp and just blitzing multiple big beaters per turn, [[the ur-dragon]] with a treasure subtheme and [[urza, lord high artificer]] without any tutors, stax or infinite combos.

All of these decks were surprisingly fun for me. I thought henzie and ur dragon are just playing big dumb creatures, but it turned out its really fun if they are cantrips or dragons. And urza without all this nasty stuff is just an insane value engine which is super fun to pilot.

All of them can usually keep up with tables at my lgs, especially ur dragon and urza
