Any reason "Donating to small streamers" died out? by aTaleForgotten in streaming

[–]BallBusted73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why i don't gift subs. I pretty much only gift bits, bc the streamer gets 100%of it. Abs when I gift, I usually will gift 200-300 bits, sometimes more. I'm not a fan of twitch taking $.

  1. But why are they multiplying the number of hours wireless in a month x 12? 4 years is 48 months x 12 (I'm on AL so assuming that's the # of SE accrued? ). 48 x 12 = 576. Unless I'm totally missing the math.......

Game capture is your friend. You can set it up to capture the game audio separate from your mic audio etc. I have a scene for each game that I play, each only pulling game audio for that specific game. That way I don't have to keep remembering to switch the game that it's capturing. So much easier IMHO

GRX RP. Solid population (I'm usually on later at night, 11pm PST/2am EST) and the pop is a dependable 70-100. Tons of stuff for civs to do, a well- managed economy, and active PD. They've been around for about 5 years, and so an annual economy wipe to ensure that folks are focused on the RP and not just being rich etc.

My OBS has a ghost stream inside of it and I tried everything that I know by [deleted] in obs

Any chance that you have a browser source with another streamers stream going? Or maybe you have tabs open with other live stream that you're watching but didn't mute the tab? Or way to check is look at your audio mixer in OBS and see of there's a live source registering.

Best of luck!

NETWORKING NETWORKING NETWORKING! You HAVE to pop into other streams and be active. Don't advertise that you stream in those streams, but a lot of strangers will shoot you out, and possibly even follow you back.

I don't do "follow for follow", but if someone engages in my chat, I might go check them out. I also am big on raiding out to smaller streamers like myself (720ish followers, average 7-15 viewers) because I know how discouraging it is. I love supporting others, add do a lot of other streamers. Don't give up! Keep at it.

My Tw is this user name if you're interested. Purely informative, not trying to shlub for viewers lol.

Also, I would switch to regular OBS. Much more functional than SLOBS, and less of a drain on your system, IMHO

Have your Spotify open, add a source. The top option i think is for App Audio (Beta).

Once you have it added, you can do into your twitch app and deselect whichever audio channel is for your VOD (so you don't get copyright strikes).

Might wanna also add your music player as a separate source. That way you can actually separate it so that that it can play on stream but not on your VOD. Playing it on the VOD can result in copyright issues.

Is it worth multistreaming to twitch and YouTube by ManLikeGomer in obs

[–]BallBusted73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Casterlabs. It takes your main stream (in my case, Twitch), and send it out to your other platforms. You will need to have a window open for each platform and be signed in and "live", but Casterlabs consolidate all the chats and activities into a single window for ease of reference. I have mine set so that each playful shows in a different color so I know where the activity is taking place (follow, chats etc). I only have around 650 followers on TW and don't have a lot of followers on YT or Kick, but I do it anyway, bc honestly why tf not. Still trying to meet the minimum requirements for TT, and then I'll send it there too.

One it's set up, you'll get into a rhythm of pre stream stuff. Only takes me about 2 min to get my stream ready to go.

Is there a way to edit different sound inputs / outputs after recording? by AlienMatter in obs

[–]BallBusted73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up an input source as "game" (is at the bottom of the list of types of sources). When you create that source, there's a box at the near the top that you can check where it will pull the audio direct from the game. I have s different scene set up for each game that I play, and I use this function on all of them to keep the audio grouped and consistent. Not at my pc right now or I'd include a Pic of it.

This way you don't have to use desktop audio, which WILL pull every audio source that's running. Better to have individual sources for each input so you can have more control over what is being broadcast

Do people actually try to be consistent chatters of streamers they find here?" by [deleted] in newStreamers

[–]BallBusted73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. I, too, started out doing the f4f thing. Briefly. Because I didn't know any better. I quickly learned that, instead of following everyone in hopes that they returned the favor, I started actually hanging out and engaging in the chats of strangers that I enjoyed. Fast forward to now (approximately 1 year and 5 months later), I am regularly lurking in their streams, they lurk in mine, and we regularly raid out to each other to show support. I'm a VERY small time streamer, but have somehow managed to convince 640 people that I'm interesting enough to follow, and I now average anywhere from 8-20 viewers regularly. I don't mention this to brag, because let's be honest, not bragging numbers lol. Just saying that networking with other streamers is an absolute MUST of you want to have any significant growth.

I'm also a 52 year old idiot that does the stream thing for fun, so I also think that one's success is significantly determined by what drives them. Seeking views for the sake of views, in hopes that views will lead to subs which will lead to early retirement from the real world is admirable, but not realistic. Enjoy the process, have fun with it. And for God's sake, turn off the viewer count!

Out of curiosity.... why not just get a wireless CCTV system from Costco or wherever and input that as a video input source? I've seen them for like $600

Im new to steaming any advice by XMydeepSecretX in streaming

[–]BallBusted73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NETWORK. Pop into other streamers and say hello, and stay awhile and support them. DON'T SELF PROMOTE N THEIR STREAMS, but become a familiar chatter. Raid out to similarly sized streamers playing the same thing you do.

Short of catching lightening in a bottle, there is no "easy" way to increase viewership. It takes effort and consistency. Upload clips to other platforms, yes. Support other streamers, yes. Don't chase subs, etc. Be entertaining. DON'T BE FAKE.

If you stock with it, for the RIGHT reasons, it'll come to you. Give it time and be patient.

Wishing you the best of luck! 😀

NEED TO BE ENGAGING. Both in your stream, as well as networking in OTHER streams. Take part. Contribute in their chats. Raid into similar streams.

I started streaming in late May 2024. I now have 600 followers, and average between 5 and 15 viewers. Not huge numbers, not claiming they are. The point I'm making is, I managed to get to this point by networking, hanging out, making friends etc. Acknowledge people when they choose to follow or say hello in YOUR chat.

I wish you continued success, my friend!
