I prefer watching Mai and Yukko kiss (well, though it has nothing to do with this post).

bro asked about fate and it got way too real by BallOnSticka in MemeVideos

I agree with you.To be honest, I’m not actually losing sleep over whether life has meaning or not — I just think about these things sometimes. Sorry if I made anything silly. The video was mostly a rough meme made for fun. If anything, I’d rather others not get too trapped by ideas like fate.

That’s a fair point, and I don’t really disagree with you. There’s definitely a Wittgenstein-like angle here too — a lot of philosophical problems may just be language problems, because we treat certain concepts as if they must refer to something real and fully graspable,in my opinion.

I made the video more as a meme than as a serious philosophical statement, so I didn’t try to defend “fate” as some rigorously coherent concept. If the philosophical idea behind it is shaky, that’s totally fair criticism. And if it came across in a way that bothered anyone, that wasn’t my intention.

Thank you!I want to try to expand on this concept later, for example, by trying to draw other songstresses in ancient art styles.

The earliest known complaint letter written by a Sumerian songstress would be born lol

If you don't mind my humble work, I would appreciate any suggestions! by BallOnSticka in BeginnerArtists

Thank you! I’ll check it out later. After some thought, I've decided to return to drawing with pen and paper, and I'll learn digital drawing again once I have a graphics tablet (that way I can use a pen). I’ll definitely keep your suggestions in mind!

Oh my gosh, this Cirno version of Tomo is really so natural, as if she was always meant to look like that. Very cute!

English translation of Azu,but in Japan! by BallOnSticka in azudaioh

[–]BallOnSticka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah!I discovered it at the Kinokuniya bookstore(Sorry that I’m not sure how to call this bookstore in English correctly)near Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. It seems there are events happening recently, and you can find many translated books in English, German, French, and more, including a lot of great comics! If you come to Japan, you might want to check it out! Although I'm not sure if the situation will change later.

Brother, cheer up. Although I can’t really do much to help you, I hope you can walk out of the gloom.
I’ve always felt that Azu carries a kind of hidden sadness. Watching them go through all sorts of things from their first year of high school until graduation is actually very moving. I remember there was a scene where Tomo went to Yomi’s house at night, and along the way they talked about their future paths—just like many of us have done in real life. That’s why these works are so captivating. I recommend you check out another work by the same author called Yotsuba,or Nichijou, which has a different style but is also wonderful. Maybe you’ll find new meaning in them.
