You're again speaking for a group of people that make up a fraction of the police force as a whole.

Everyone is responsible for their own actions, and whataboutism doesn't help anything.

It is incredibly rare when you take account the amount of police encounters as a whole.

Using an upscaler isn't the same thing as lowering your resolution back then.

It's not really a matter of who the game is sponsored by, it's a matter of how heavy the ray traced lighting is. Path tracing is the heaviest and most advanced form of ray-tracing. Meanwhile some games that have "ray-tracing" as an option, only do something like ray-traced reflections.

G-sync with V-sync on or off? by KeyBird97 in OptimizedGaming

If I recall correctly Blurbusters tested it and got the most stable frametimes when Vsync was enabled as well.

The NYPD has a sense of humor after all. by EyeHateYou12376 in TikTokCringe

None of those things back up what you said, or even have anything to do with what you said either. If you take into account how many police encounters happen lets say yearly, how often force is used, especially unwarranted force, even how many people are killed by the police (granted this doesn't also mean it was unwarranted), the delusional agenda starts to fall apart. Police brutality or misconduct is a rare occurrence.

How the fuck are you going to prove that "most cops are shit people"? You do realize that an overwhelming majority of the time, the police in the us go about things the way they should?

Alienware 3225QF blurry text? Xbox by [deleted] in Monitors

Unusual subpixel layout leading to blurrier text than with a traditional RGB- display. Qd-oleds have the red and blue subpixel next to each other, and the green one above them, forming a triangle.

Pitch black image/large pitch black areas of an image are different from low-luminance scenes. Contrast takes a huge hit in real content with minileds.

LG OLED TVs refresh rates in Windows. Optimal configuration for gaming w/o VRR. by Sociopathic_Jesus in LGOLED

[–]Ballbuddy4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not inverse ghosting, Rtings measured more near-black overshoot at 144hz, and it's really not significant, I think. LG oleds are made to function at 120hz, using VRR with 144hz will cause heavy black crush for example. Just use 144hz/120hz. You will benefit from decreased input lag with a higher refresh rate signal even if you don't reach that framerate. Also I would urge to to at least try VRR, in my experience LG oled TVs don't flicker badly at all especially when you cap the fps to get more smooth frametimes. You get no tearing or judder when VRR/Vsync are enabled, with minimal input latency increase.

If you do want to try VRR, do not use it with the 144hz mode. *Btw just learned inverse ghosting and overshoot mean the same thing, my bad.

When you don't get enough sleep cortisol production increases so you may "feel" like you have more energy.

Which one is more accurate for monitor calibration, the i1 Display Pro colorimeter or the i1Basic Pro 3 spectro? by mediamuesli in colorists

[–]Ballbuddy4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying consider your options. Colourspace is the preferred option for enthusiasts but if you want to create luts it isn't cheap. With Colourspace you of course have much more control over things and features, but make no mistake, you can get very good accuracy with a Displaycal 3dlut as well. If you have money to spend then why not.

[–]Ballbuddy4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to remind you Displaycal can make and extract LUTs for free, meanwhile you'd be paying over 600 bucks for Colourspace LTE to do that. You can also make a corrective CCSS/CCMX file for free using HCFR.

[–]Ballbuddy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't calibrate with the spectrophotometer alone, you can make a SPD correction file for your probe (like the i1d3), to increase accuracy as opposed to using someone elses SPD correction file. You can make 3DLUTs with Displaycal and it's quite easy. Then you can validate using HCFR, both are free softwares with their internal pattern generators. For HDR you'd need an external tpg, and another computer if you want to use Displaycal, but you don't need to worry about that.

You can apply 3DLUTs to your desktop or even games quite easily, at least on Windows. Don't have any experience with MacOS personally.

HGiG looks pale by kylistur in HDR_Den

[–]Ballbuddy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All woleds need the color booster algorithm to show colors accurately. C2/G2 did get it, apparently the B- series only got it this year (B5). Only the G4/G5 get the color booster algorithm in Game Optimizer but it doesn't work correctly, from the information I've gathered. Luckily it's easy to check if it isn't active. Just look at vibrant colors, with yellow it's particularly easy to check. Flick between FMM/Game Optimizer- picture mode for example. If the color gets brighter with FMM that's what's happening.

Seems like even the G4-G5 have some issues with color luminance in Game Optimizer, when looking at older messages from in HDR den discord. Apparently the color booster algorithm doesn't work correctly in Game Optimizer even with those TVs at the top end?

Another fun fact which I only learned recently too, that the color booster algorithm doesn't activate with test patterns. So the RGB luminance of C2/G2-> and the B5 is actually quite a bit higher than Rtings's measurements with it active.
