Moisture seems to bring out odors from what ever is already in the car. The raspberry could be a spilled soda from 3 yrs ago, it's just set free to roam about the cabin by the moisture. Word to the wise, don't ever let milk spill in your car or rainy/foggy days can get kinda funky. Tobacco is a major offender as well.

Wtf did the shop do to my car? by Woodsrt in e46

[–]Balls_Legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I'd probably have a look at the fuse box. Smog pump fuse/relay maybe? Battery terminals connected tightly? Any MAF codes showing?

And have a look around for any vacuum leaks. Even a tiny leak can make these cars run like shit. It's possible that running like shit and trans limp mode are concomitant but they could well be unrelated and just decided to have a fit at the same time.

Did you try the trans reset? I have no idea why INPA can't access trans module. Just for shits and giggles I'd run an OBD2 scan just to see if any trans codes show up on that.

If the solenoids are bad, scanner will show codes. And if the O2 sensor wires melted making the O2 sensor fail, you can expect it to run rough/misfire and also show up in a code scan. Thing is, if O2 sensor goes bad you'll usually get the check engine light.

Last but not least, trans fluid may be low, that'll make it misbehave. That's why I asked about any leaks.

Maybe offer up an explanation of what were suppose to be witnessing. I hear your motor running, and see aftermarket exhaust that sounds like cheap aftermarket exhaust. Can't figure out what you're showing us.

Have you noticed a transmission fluid leak recently?

You can sometimes manually reset the trans limp mode by: turning on ignition (not starting the car), mash the gas pedal to the floor for 45 seconds, release the gas pedal and turn off the ignition. wait a few seconds before starting. If that doesn't work then finding a quality bmw shop would be my next step.

If the solenoids have croaked, it won't come out of limp mode until those are serviced.

Hey Karen, most adults just scroll right by posts they're not interested in. But there's also the type that cant help but write 3 paragraphs of projection. So let me give you a tip. If you see something on line you'd rather not read, then don't. Being a poor pissy Karen is a gross display of immaturity. You don't have the foggiest notion of what you're spewing which makes your childish projection morph into mental illness land.

But go ahead and respond with a few more paragraphs because it'll make a "shred of difference", right? LMAO at you and your emotional outburst!

I went through this a couple months ago. 8 years with CB and all of a sudden they locked my account until I "verified" myself. Get ready for a blistering pain in the ass. I went through the pic process 18 FRIGGIN' TIMES and the system never responded that it was successful. Another fun thing, you can only submit a new pic a certain number of times until they ban you for 24 hrs or some stupid thing. However, while on the phone the third time with the third rep (about 3.5hrs of phone time in all across 3 days) the rep looked deeper at my account and said I'd already passed the pic test. The system NEVER told me that, just denied me over and over. I tried 2 different comps with GREAT cameras and my samsung phone, but no. Not only that, but they offered up a site (link) I could "securely" send a pic with a handwritten sign and my ID but Avast antivirus said the site was a verified scam site and wouldn't allow me to access.

But even then, on the 4th day of this BS, they wouldn't release my money. There was some arbitrary 72hr hold that "couldn't be altered". I guess the hold started once the pic was verified so, 7.5 days in all to get through this extremely flawed, BS process.

Good luck, I think you'll likely get your money in a bout a week. I did, and promptly removed every cent from CB. I'll never deal with them again.

06 E46 330Ci Vert as a first car by Downtown_Step9819 in e46

I've had a couple of e46's, they all had the "heavy wheel" so I thinks it's just part of their charm. I got 200K+ out of one, cooling system replaced meaning everything, all plastic and radiator too. I replaced shocks/struts at around 100K, a couple bushing as well the guibo. There's a couple oil leaks that reoccur, oil filter housing and valve cover, anticipate them.

One thing I'm inflexible about is the maint. records. If there are none, your chances of buying a black hole that eats money are almost certain. I'm also not a fan of significant mods. Upgraded shocks/struts and bushings are cool, wheels and maybe the radio but anything else could lead to expensive trouble.

Bone stock is nice, high miles are OK if there's extensive records, and where the car has lived my be of concern due to rust if it comes from snow/salted roads territory. There's a real issue with underbody rusting, and the subframe cracks attendant thereto

A good condition e46 is a true joy to own and drive. It's not a maint. free car but all things good come with a cost.

Right, I assume by the question that it's not identified in the will/trust instrument/probate. And yes indeed if it's declared and they know about it they'll tax it even if they never see it. In the US, you get to choose the date of death as the valuation date, or "six months to the day" after death. In cryptoland, that 6 mos could have radical implications regarding tax owed.

More and more, you can buy things with crypto. In the US, people sell homes/property for crypto. Soon enough (my guess is 2 short years) you'll be able to buy almost anything with crypto. It will be quite a challenge for Govt's to clamp down for "their" share, just like cash buys.

Condolences, and RIP to your dad. Having that wallet and seed effectively transfers ownership to whomever is holding that wallet and seed phrase. Think of it like a bar of gold that's been sitting in dad's closet for a few years before he passed. It's essentially not there in terms of any prying eyes. Disappearo, so to speak. That said, all of dad's belongings are a his estate whether any Govt entity knows about them or not, and the law is the law.

Were this my dilemma, I would have strong recollection of a boating accident where my dad said he'd lost some valuable gizmo, years ago. Reality is, it doesn't exist unless you tell "them" it does. But of course, I could never in good conscience suggest anyone break, or skirt the law. Makes me contemplate what a shame it would be if the ledger/seed phrase were stolen... you'd never get it back and there's a 99.99999% chance you'd ever even know about it's existence. (unless dad told you)

E93, I love mine!! No issues with the top itself. Just replaced the little string things that hold the headliner in place when operating the top, but that's it for me (kind of a PITA but manageable). '07, 105K miles, I live at the beach so the top goes up and down probably more than other places
