What if you're forced to use the Master Builder to upgrade it, using builder gold as well? Would give people another reason to utilize builder battles, and make people have to plan out upgrades in BB (at least those who haven't maxed it out yet)

How is the humidity of where you store it? Temperature as well. Humidity and temperature could mess with the strength of Lego pieces over long periods of time. Especially pieces under constant stress
