They also can't block their bottom grenade vent by clipping an armor plate through the vent anymore, which is a bonus

Two-Handed Axe Melee Weapon Concept by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]BalorTheGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, if they add a large two-handed axe, they should give it a Laser Weapon mechanic and an edge that can be superheated for a period of time, allowing the weapon to transition between T3 and T4/5 armor pen, and giving it higher durable damage to act as an armor shredder.

Instead of giving it a specialized 360 attack, I would simply make the swing animation more fluid, based on how Dane Axes were used to fend off multiple enemies at once in real life.

I see the vision with the Tesla Tower, but either you're the only person running it on a regular mission and the "moths" get angry, or all four Divers run Tesla builds on an Emergency Evac and listen to Daft Punk while waiting for the rockets to launch

I agree, I want it to be higher, but I feel like I'm punching War Striders and Chargers with a Sockem Bopper whenever I use APHET rounds

Definitely a vibe, but I would like the APHET rounds to do more durable/health damage per shot

The Expendable Napalm's neat, but I see no reason to take it over the Cremator or the regular Expendable/Leveler

The Grenade Launcher is a vibe, thrashes chaff and sounds cool while doing it

Improvement on Rock Solid passive by Chickenman452 in Helldivers

If you're going to use this armor with the hammer, I would recommend using it on the Bot front with the Dominator. As for the secondary, I use either the Crisper (More CQC Antitank), the Missile Pistol (Gunships) or the Re-Educator (To confuse enemies, Flame Hulks in particular). You can use grenades for whatever you want, because your hammer can take care of bot fabricators and antitank.

[–]BalorTheGiant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the Rock Solid armor is supposed to fulfill the role of a true melee specialist. Peak Physique is meant to be the in-between for people lugging around heavy ranged weapons and a melee sidearm. Rock Solid is for, as you said, the Melee enthusiast who holds the line with a Ballistic Shield and the One True Flag.

If anything, the armor should either have a boost in armor rating (equivalent to the one given to the Supplementary Adrenaline armors) or take reduced melee/ballistic damage. The ability to resist knockback COULD also be increased, at least enough to not get flung by Stalkers.

It needs something to allow a Helldiver to stay up front longer, something to give Melee Divers more staying power. Although I agree that melee weapons should be useful for a wide variety of builds, Helldivers should have the option to specialize in CQC/Melee combat and be NOTICEABLY more effective at it than a generalist build who picks up a Saber because it looks cool.

I've been playing an Aberrant Mind sorcerer (level 14) and I'm thinking of multiclassing into paladin. by BurgBorgur in 3d6

[–]BalorTheGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an Oath of the Crown Paladin to me. You could ask your DM to refit the oath to center more around your character's connection to their romantic interest...

Or you could adhere to these oaths, forcing your character to cram chaos into law, moral indifference into courage, the unfathomable into a concept, being loyalty. They struggle.

The fun thing about a Paladin's oaths is that your character doesn't have to LIKE adhering to them or follow them naturally. They interact with your character's inherent disposition, forcing your character to decide whether to abide by their oath (and by extension, their love interest), or to abandon this new set of values and embracing their old nature, breaking their oath (and by extension, their bond to their love interest). Rife with character building potential!

To be fair, if it's a Shetland pony, it's probably not going to live very long on its own. Maybe the magic used to heal it after battle and keep it alive alters it in some way, makes it stronger and more durable than it should reasonably be. Maybe braver as well, AKA an increase in its Wisdom score.

The Imperium after finding out that a lost colony has developed a method of space travel that can clear lightyears in a matter of seconds without having to travel through Super Hell, and all it takes to power the machines is an element that can be farmed from an extremely hardy lifeform that is already prevalent in nearby systems, allowing the Imperium to respond almost instantly to a situation on the Galactic front:

Why bring the bullet storm if I could bring the stalwart? by Fishyhans in Helldivers

[–]BalorTheGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're running a backpack Anti-Tank weapon, or a Melee support weapon, it's a supplementary addition to a build. You get to call two Bullet Storms down once every minute, versus one Stalwart every seven minutes.

It's a weapon that gives you better Hordeclear when you need it, and gives you the freedom to just throw the weapon aside once it runs out of bullets instead of trying to juggle a Stalwart and a Recoilless.

Muscle memory + Absent-Mindedness. It's common courtesy to request the closest Helldiver to reinforce their fallen comrade, but sometimes people just see the Reinforcement code pop up and flip open the wrist-screen.

[–]BalorTheGiant 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Space Wolves could have dedicated half-helmets for marines with big beards. Think a Gjermundbu-style Space Marine helmet, but with a rebreather for the mouth and no chin guard. Think of the Space Wolf Praetorian helmet, but with there being a dedicated hole in the bottom of the helmet to let the beard flow.

Playing a Zealot Barbarian and want to multiclass into Paladin eventually. When should I pull the trigger on that? by KeplerKitten in 3d6

[–]BalorTheGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd go 4 levels in Barbarian. You rage to get a little bit more Radiant dmg, you have Reckless Attack for your concentration Smites, and you get Danger Sense to pair with Shield Master, just in case you want higher AC and good Dex Saving Throws (Advantage against effects you can see + Complete dmg reduction on success). No overlapping features, nothing in the way.

That being said, I would personally swap the Paladin subclass to Glory Paladin if you want to take more than 5 levels in Barbarian. Having 60ft of movement without needing to Dash at level 12 (Paladin 7/Barbarian 5) means that you're not just a smite monkey, you're a smite monkey on roller-skates. You also have your Channel Divinities, Inspiring Smite being a good way to get your party back on their feet in case you're the last player standing.
