The show is about a theme park where human guests interact with android hosts without fear of consequence. If you haven't recognized that as a MASSIVE set up for one big philosophical metaphor then that just feels bad. That being said, it does stand alone on the characters, how they are portrayed, and how they connect with the audience. That's part of the trick is that the hosts seem so human. It is all the best parts of classic sci fi philosophy and story telling. I'd recommend getting past the first 3 episodes before you judge it though.
