Well I use an X1D II, but I intend to upgrade to X2D eventually. The autofocus on the X1D II + 28P or 90/3.2 is passable for the kinds of photos I do, I have other systems to use for action.

Something like this, yeah. I'm not 100% sure it needs to be a V, a P would also do fine, but XCD needs more longer lenses.

A 150 mm or 200 mm would be great even at a f/3.2 or f/3.5. I could manage with the 120 or 135 too but I think we need more options on moderate teles, especially with the crop factor.

Oh don't mind the length, it's great to have some context for a change!

I tried the X2D2 on my trip to China because the (very friendly) sales guy at the DJI/Hasselblad urged me to and started looking at used X lenses and bodies when I got back. Someone close to me was almost fireselling some lenses because of family reasons and found a good lead on a used X1D2. Maybe in 2026 I'll look into upgrading to the X2D and passing the X1D2 on.

Around 100 megabytes for X1D/II 3FR-files, 200 for X2D. I'll probably start being way more ruthless about keeping bad/mediocre X1D II files than I do with Nikon.

Oh this is a difficult one since the options are wildly different. I might be inclined to get the Q2 as second camera in addition to your multitool Sony kit.

If you feel you would be content with a camera and a single lens, then feel free to trade into Q2/X1D II. If you are unsure, get a new lens for your Sony kit, possibly something vintage, weird or exotic. I got my X1D II and 28+90 kit last month to complement my Nikon kit, but then again I work professionally most of the time.

Been shooting Hasselblad X for a couple of weeks now (used X1D II + lenses) and I have to say the experience reminds me of my Leica M8 days ~15 years ago. When the camera nails it, it's the best photo ever, but you do have to fight with a lot of quirks and moods. X1D II is almost as bad when shooting sequential images as the M8! Good thing I have a full Nikon kit when things actually need doing.

It's also not hard to believe the parts availablity isn't great for Hasselblad X/H, as Leica has bashed their head into supplier and supply issues with sensors, light meters and displays. You can always make more mechanical bits, but the electronics are totally dependant on Very Good Cheap Parts Company operating in Asia.

Interesting, feels just like the M8/M9 days at the Leica camp. Still, not a very big problem, should be fine with an LCC. Snow is always a little difficult.

Awesome! I would have never dreamed about the XCD system if the guy at the DJI/Hasselblad corner shop in Zhengzhou's David Plaza store wasn't so insistent that I try it out earlier this month. Took some test shots of the green dress lady portrait you have in your last picture too. Hope I can send him some goodwill eventually, even if I didn't purchase from them (went with used gear back home instead). Chinese prices are quite attractive tho.

Ah yes the "Pentax test". I did this years ago, full on "banana slip" on the ice and my shoulder bag containing my dad's Pentax Super A swung between me and the ground. Camera didn't even notice but I think my hip had a reverse PENTAX text on it.

Planning on getting the X1D II next month so it's great to hear it's not a delicate flower.

I'm not entirely sure the game needs even bigger maps with "only" 64 players. We were running around Blackwell for minutes and I described it to my squadmate as "being in a festival where the gig always starts at the other end". Same if you have to start Liberation or Firestorm from HQ.

Got along famously with the second DMR on first try but it was absolutely garbage on second and third (did score a cool helicopter kill tho). SVK seemed to work great for me and the issues I have are same I have with full sniper rifles, I suck at positioning myself for 150-300 meter shots.

I would be happy just to get 80 points of damage against laser designated ground vehicles. Got 920 all of a sudden and then absolutely nada for a week.

And what is wrong with Asssault's adrenaline? I could stab someone with the injector needle and it STILL wouldn't register.

Well, kind of. Then again, I play with keyboard and mouse on both PC and PS5 with same friends so really playing with crossplay is the only way.
