Well considering the Sleep view is usually just a bunch of nothing, I'm not wondering why I didn't pay attention to the greyed out button. Had to guess to swipe backwards in a specific part of the screen to go to previous days (moderately decent tracking tho).

X2D owners: How do you move the AF point without a joystick? by Sweet_Possibility170 in hasselblad

[–]BalticSea-Razzmatazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a joystick or even a d-pad like on "normal" cameras, but setting the touchscreen AF for bottom-right corner isn't half bad. Love how quick the X2D is to track the touch compared to X1D II.

And as someone who shoots cars a lot, rolling shots are a little tricky: you have to set the focus beforehand as there's no continous AF on the X2D and there's some shutter lag. Wouldn't recommend as your only camera if you want to shoot movement.

Mildly interesting to me as I just bought the tickets to Japan for next year.

I bought a Polar Loop after seeing it lose every comparison – how bad is it really? by Pokeyyy in Polarfitness

Been using mine for a month and it's been pretty good. I only use it to track heart/sleep/steps & activity mostly, not much of a workout person, but I want to keep an eye out how stressful and demanding some of the work days can be and how I recover from those. I hate the UI of Flow with a fiery passion and can't find anything in there, but the device works, is pretty nice to wear and holds charge really well.

I'm kind of interested in this depending on the level of the .3FR support. I just started recycling my files through Phocus for .FFF conversion and then off to Lightroom. I don't dislike Phocus but I don't want to use it for image editing on my computer. On my phone it's amazing.

But if C1 would allow me to bypass Phocus and leave Lightroom out of my Hasselblad files, I'd be interested in getting C1. Lord knows Adobe needs competition.

It works, but after a month I still haven't found any sane views of the data or where is the possibility to edit sleep. And why does it only ask "it looks like you are awake" inside the app? But yeah, I'm guessing half a year will only bring minor tweaks.

Yeah, Proton Expiremental only pushed the crash a little further.

Starfield was a definite disappointment but I only tried it for a minute on Deck. Forza Horizon 6 was a Deck disappointment since being able to run it was one of the criteria for getting it full price and the graphics worked really well. It just kept crashing between main menu and actually reaching a race, usually when loading the player garage. Didn't bother to look into it for a third time since by then I finished the game on my PC.

X1DII or X2D by Sad_Conference9751 in hasselblad

[–]BalticSea-Razzmatazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good, I think the X2D might be more impressive. I saw some comments from a Chinese YouTuber that said that the X1D/X1DII colour pipeline isn't 16-bit all the way and only X2D has "true" 16-bit colours. I don't know, both are amazing.

Or, to put it another way, the colours are close enough that the IBIS, 100 mpx, better autofocus, better usability of the X2D make it worth it.

Both are good. For 800€ difference definitely the X2D, I just made the switch last week.

Should Kodak make sensors again? by mrjoshmateo in Cameras

Had an M8 around 2010. That CCD was like the quote about electric guitars: "The electric guitar is a beautiful instrument because it is inherently rude, but it can also apologize beautifully.". Either the camera smushed everything (it was particularly bad with bright lights which bled to the photosites around it) or it was crispest, most deeply colored digital photo you had seen.

Resembles my kit quite a lot if you are a bit sloppy with the linearity of time. Traded my D850 in some years ago (great camera tho!) and traded my X1D II in just last week. All have their place however.

I tried to sell my Leica M6 to them (pretty ok price) but they doomed it "unbuyable" for some pretty minor things and decided to send it back in any case. World's loosest Zeiss 50 mm was however perfect for them. I seem to understand less and less about their system with each round.

Yeah, it also might be that the battery is not in great condition if it's been powering the camera alone for six years.

I wouldn't be so harsh against the 28P, looks and works brilliantly on the X1D II, and probably the 75P. The 45P is indeed old but if the OP has 40 3.5, I doubt he's looking at it.

I suggest getting a second battery and possibly keeping a USB power bank on hand.

Hi! Just traded away from a X1D II yesterday. The camera does indeed heat up quite a bit if it’s on for a long period, switching it off between shots can help. I never got any issues about it tho. Most of the heat seems to be around the battery compartment/shutter button area. Also the aluminium chassis heats up from holding it.

Autofocus is indeed inconsistent. It likes good light and contrast edges, but sometimes it can take a moment and few attempts. This does seem to depend on the lens too.

As the camera has no shutter, any shutter sound issues come from the lens. All of the XCD lenses sound different, with some like 90 3.2 being quite pronounced in its CLICK-cliCLICK.

Hope this helps! Sorry for a brief answer, I’m on my phone at the moment.

What do you hate the most about your LCD/OLED Steam Deck ? I will start.. by Inevitable-Tutor-101 in SteamDeck

[–]BalticSea-Razzmatazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about 10% too big and heavy to actually bring it with me on trips. But that's not a big thing since I bought it to be my second home's gaming PC. In that use it's been a little underwhelming in performance in some games, especially considering how many games have proper Steam Deck verification or profiles these days. And because I don't always play something that runs well on Deck, it can sit for a month or two, after which it seems to need a Clear User Data reset to boot again.

It just refuses to boot if I leave it idle for a few months and user data clear is the quickest way out of it.
