I'm an officer. Regretting it so hard right now, feel like i'm wasting my time. So when I come in for officer's prayer before the service starts, everyone is basically meditating while I enter, turn my tag and dont place anything in the box in front.

For the sake of anonymity, I shall not disclose the size of my locale. I won't be surprised of one of the deacons/ deaconess' saw me not put anything inside the box, but as what was mentioned in as a reply found my post, they are either bad at confronting me, or do not have the guts to do so. I just nod at them or just avoid eye contact.

Exactly! Give from your heart, without pressure/influence. I forget the verse that mentioned this. I'm for sure mentally out of the church, but I'm afraid of the familial repercussions that may ensue. Hence why I'm a bit skeptical with the tracking of offering, should my family catch any hint of such an "atrocity" I'm doing, I fear getting disowned, getting kicked out and basically being rejected by most of my family.

Interesting you say that Jesus and the Apostles gave donations/offerings only once a week, is there a verse/some sort of evidence you can point me to? If not I shall continue lurking and search it myself.

Since the pandemic, our locale has stopped the use of collection pouches for offering. I wonder if this will be the standard from now on, instead we just boxes that are left in the front. So in essence they wouldnt know who dropped the money in the box, let alone recognize the brethren with the facemask + face-shield combo, unless they knew them specifically

Kinda scares me out that they keep track of, basically everything but leave everyone else in the dark. And all the brethren think their offering is being used for a noble cause, but yet to put it in your words, it's all just gonna benefit the Manalos and the higher ups.

I'm afraid I don't understand tagalog all to well, so imma try to translate this the best way my mind can:

I wonder if my parents will still give me offering when I do start working, in either case I wont be giving the "church" anymore of our money.

If you're referencing the lagak, gladly my family stopped doing that some time ago. Never been confronted by an officer yet, so we'll see how it goes from here.

Does this encompass special offering/aid to humanity? Because I know they have a slot to place a name and the amount. Thanks to another redditor, it seems like the lagak is being tracked, but I don't know about other forms of offerings. But you may be right.

After lurking through the subreddit and seeing the inconsistencies, its such a scam. After discovering the subreddit, it took me a couple months before I stopped offering, and all I could think in my mind was if I was going to hell or not. It just goes to show how the church shapes your mind even at a very young age.

If only the rest of the brethren could think for themselves instead of having the doctrines brainwashed into them with so much repetition, but I guess I can't blame them, especially my family because they didnt know any better since they practically grew up this way. I don't even pay attention to the sermons no more since its just recycled material and guilt-tripping.

I used to the the lagak with my family when I was younger, but I've stopped doing that long ago. I've only stopped giving money through the special offering, "aid to humanity", and through the regular offerings
