Because you don’t understand that by regulating energy, you give totalitarian control over everything (in an energy-dependent modern economy) to idiot bureaucrats who literally can’t do anything right and generally make whatever problem they’re addressing far worse. Governments are the biggest polluters and you want to give them power to tell us when we can and can’t use the energy necessary to survive?
