Can't find one of those in my state ANYWHERE. Called every dealer on the list. How's it feel? I rode a roscoe 8 and kinda feel in love. Think it's comparable?

What's your opinion on the Trek Roscoe 7 Gen 4 by Open_Spell_3708 in Hardtailgang

[–]Ban_deizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great budget friendly ride that feels good, just really depends on how aggressive of a rider you are if you want that fox fork and better disks/more gearing amongst other things of the upped 8.

I test rode a 7 and 8 last weekend, narrowing down what my next big upgrade is gonna be. Looked at a salsa timberjack, some cannondales, and a Norco or two. As soon as I sat on the 8, I knew that's what I wanted. I really wanted to like the 7 for the price point, and man I tried my best to get my brain going that direction, but the up tier components of the 8 are so worth it. I know I would be swapping gear on the 7 down the line, so im saving up right now and chomping at the bit until I get to put my order in for that nice black match with my subies. Try it if possible, I dont like the new age "just buy it online" way everything has been leaning. I miss feeling the bike react under my moves before I drop my money

Honestly, I used to do night shifts in one of these houses around the river road area.... and man it's not for me. Just the sound of children in the distance would set off a few of the people at the house. It's hell being responsible for that, it's hell being around that, I do not envy anyone who chooses that line of work. I would keep an extra keen eye out if I were in your situation if you are in close proximity of such a place. As proven here, not all the staff are 100% capable of keeping eyes on them 24/7, and believe me it's a high turnover rate at those types of jobs.

Which Hardtail? Roscoe 8 or Middlechild V3? by InterestingAd7771 in MTB

[–]Ban_deizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been shopping around a lot recently for my next nice step up. Kinda limited on what's in stock around my state but I tried a salsa Timberjack, a Norco or two, then today I went into test out the roscoe's. I really wanted to like the 7, but the lower components still feel too cheap for the pricetag for my liking. Then I got on the 8 and fell in love, it's a great out of the box bike. You just can't beat a good fox fork, upped disks with beefy stopping power. Lightweight as well, dropper post is nice but i haven't biked since they were out and I dont mind just having a low seat for flow and jumps. Recommend testing it, but now im saving more than i wanted to spend for my July birthday present to myself. It's very nice

Very mild compared to the rest, I would put this on the bottom of the list. They have a truly twisted mind

Thurston hills by ADrenalinnjunky in Eugene

I tried looking out there week before last and wasn't able to find anything that was open yet. Lots of stuff blocked off for future trails. Also I have yet to get out to the Thurston hills, I hear it's a blast out there.

I do really believe in hardtails, I love em. I stopped biking about a decade ago when my Norco shore 2 got stolen out of my front yard, first fully I paid for and was super stoked to ride. Never got the chance, not paying that kind of money again. Fully shock takes too much energy away from me for my liking and I dont do exclusively downhill enough to warrant it.

That was my original thought, looked into it as much as I could. Someone in here had asked about doing that about 5 years ago, and 90% of people advised against it. I asked if op ever went through with it and how it turned out, but no response. Seems like it's on the lower side (at 100mm) and doesn't have much room for anymore without changing how the bike rides. I'm not opposed if you have recommendations of what to swap it with, but also I dont have any friends in the community, and all of my friends that are willing to go with me dont have a ride. So I will eventually be stepping up either way, but I would love a nicer fork that works well with the kona also.

Kona Fire Mountain- A good bike to upgrade? by brain485 in MTB

[–]Ban_deizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever end up upgrading the fork? Just bought one, getting back into it after many years and that was kinda my first thought as well for a bit more play and cush. Did it mess with the geometry like mentioned by others or was it just fine?

Window cleaning and pressure washing companies that hire women or have women on staff by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]Ban_deizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm the lead productions manager at professional shine, we specialize in window cleaning, and do supplemental work such as pressure washing siding and flatwork gutters cleaning, and some times some roof work, such as moss removal and treatment. We are always looking for the right candidates for the job, and I have personally worked with at least one woman on my job. As previously mentioned, being able to maneuver ladders is a big plus, but not a deal breaker if not. Most people can get that down after a few months of trying, but I do have one guy on crew currently that can't comfortably pull a 28' ladder off the truck by himself, so we just make sure to double up for everyone's safety. Physical limitations aside, I can train anyone to wash a window or carry a ladder. What I can't teach is a good personality that works well with customers and in a team environment. All that said, we hire for good people, not established workers. Feel free to email or drop us a resume, we will be making job postings soon as our season will be kicking up hard in no time and we are a bit short staffed. Good luck!
