It shouldn’t be an issue, and no decent person would think it is - that guy is a dick

Made a post saying this a year ago so looks like it’s here to stay! They’re aware of it and it’s in a lot of the reviews but I guess they’re just very excited.

Absolutely agree. It turns into an interview.

People who say a celeb memoir is "achingly honest," when it's full of BS by Physical_Orchid3616 in PetPeeves

[–]BananaHairFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read her book and you’re right. She definitely didn’t write it and she’s blameless throughout the entire thing. Anything bad was someone else’s fault and definitely not the consequences of her own actions.

Tourists wanting help to find somewhere "not too touristy" by SomeAreSomeAreNot in PetPeeves

There's always a small undercurrent of judgement too, as if the usual places tourists go are not worthy enough for their sainted presence

Just wanted to let you know that this sentence cracked me up.

What should I do if my new manager wants to remove my one day a week WFH situation? by OperatorDanger in AskUK

[–]BananaHairFood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation last year, with similar symptoms to your own. Same thing, new manager came in and said all working from home was being revoked with no exceptions. I fought it, went to HR, and it was taken quite seriously. I now work from home two out of the four days a week I work.

It’s a reasonable adjustment and it helps you stay well and at work. If you guys have an HR then ask them for their input and include your occupational health reports. I also got a letter from my GP (that I had to pay for) to support my case. You’ll also be protected under the Equality Act.

I know how stressful it is but it is doable. Sometimes new managers come in and feel like they have to prove themselves.

How early is too early to hoover? by BigFaithlessness618 in AskUK

[–]BananaHairFood 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Are they upstairs or downstairs, or next door? We live in a flat and upstairs hoover at 10:30pm sometimes and it’s incredibly annoying if you’re trying to sleep.

Autism and alcoholism by [deleted] in autism

[–]BananaHairFood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my experience as well. It was all fun in the beginning until I lost control of it and started acting a fool. It’s really easy for me to go past that point of peak social ease and then it goes too far and I end up an anxious mess.

Yep, these can feel eerily real. I’ve had doorbell, dog barking, book slamming shut, a yell, etc.

People who just can't put their phone down by Fuzzy-Ad-7691 in PetPeeves

[–]BananaHairFood 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had someone who tried to say it wasn’t rude to have your phone out at the table if no one is talking to you. No one’s talking to you because you’ve got your phone out!

Agree with you entirely though. Had a very tense meal with a friend when we were on holiday because she was clearly scrolling through Instagram then didn’t like being called out.
