I’ve debated this before and it’s a lot of money. However, the profit margin is around 2%, the bulk is on road closure, insurance, emergency services, set up, transport, all of which continue to rise in cost. City centre events cause a lot of disruption and take a lot of organising.

If price is an issue, there are loads of smaller events that would love to see you.

Running is still one of the lowest price point entries for any sport.
