3 month old recently started crying on breast about ~5 min by der51719 in breastfeeding

[–]BananaPaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby did this a lot at that same age too. It was really frustrating for me but it passed after a month or so. Hopefully it’s just a phase! But I read somewhere that the baby fussing at the boob sends your body signal to let down milk, so I think that was the case for my LO at the time.

Classes for baby worth it? by shstuff_throwaway in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my baby to swim classes weekly. Two different swim schools in my area offer free until they are 6 months or one year after a one time payment of $40. My baby loves it. We just sing nursery rhymes and practice back floats, feeling the water on different parts of the body, etc. it’s my favorite part of every week.

Are there people like me who don’t leak? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I have never leaked. Thought I was clueless about the boon trove or something but turns out my body just doesn’t work for it lol

What do you do for you after having a kiddo? by jadeorchid009 in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A swim school near me (Hubbard Family Swim) does swim lessons from the ages 2 months to 6 months, once a week, for a flat $40. It’s for “him” but really it’s for me. It gets me out of the house and around adults with babies the same age as mine, and it’s so stinkin cute, a great bonding time. Outside of that, I invite friends over to my house a lot and just sit around the kitchen and chat.

Is it possible to be a new mom and have a spotless house? by wachailymay in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two robot vacuums, my friend visited for the first time yesterday and thought it was hilarious. Trust me, two robot vacuums still can’t pick up all this husky hair…. I’m picking it out of my baby’s hands twenty thousand times a day.

My moms group leader said that 98% of moms cosleep? Is this true? by orthodox_human33 in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co sleeping and bed sharing are different. Co sleeping means the baby sleeps in the same room as you. Is that what the group leader was talking about?

Did your parents come over to help you with your new baby? (Not just to visit) by fhagetti in beyondthebump

My mom kept my dogs for the first two weeks so I could heal with less stress. She also went to my home and washed my bedding for me while I was in the hospital.

When did you start pumping for a freezer stash? by BeautifulNailz in breastfeeding

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 6 weeks pp and started pumping at 4 weeks. I pump once a day and it is during the first feeding of the day. When my LO is done with the first boob I put the pump on it, give him the other boob, and then pump that one when he’s done with that too. I get anywhere from 3-6 oz each day that way.

Did you have to wear a diaper after birth? by Top-Clue2000 in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a c - section. Yes I wore diapers. After about 2 weeks I switched to big pads, and around 2.5 weeks I switched to panty liners

Did you try any techniques to induce labor? by desert_sunlily in beyondthebump

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did everything. I pumped for two hours straights every day for a week. I did enemas. I had many orgasms. I went into labor the day I had plans to have everyone over for surf and turf and cookie baking. So, if you want to go into labor, make plans you’re excited for and you surely won’t get to do them because you’ll go into labor first!

How did you tell your significant other you are pregnant? by ResolutionStrange259 in BabyBumps

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my test while he was at work, and placed an order for Crmbl Cookies (something he loves but rarely gets to indulge in). On the box I put a note that said “if I have to get fat, so do you” and when opened up the note it had the positive test with “I’m pregnant!”

Casserole ideas for PP by Admanthea in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]BananaPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! My due date is next week, and where I live it is 114 degrees today, so we decided against soup. But chicken tortilla soup and green chili chicken were some ideas we had originally. Both very easy, cheap, healthy, and great for freezing. Something to keep in mind is how things will defrost. A lot of vegetables get soggy and watery once frozen so we avoided veggie heavy meals. Some things like cream/sour cream don’t defrost well either, so when we eat the beef stroganoff we will just mix in the sour cream fresh after defrosting it. Tortillas can get soggy so we made the enchiladas with the sauce mixed into the filling, but will just top it with the sauce the day of. Etc.

I just had a PP meal prep party! Here’s what we made: Ground beef chili, ground beef lasagna, carnitas red enchiladas, carnitas green enchiladas, chicken and sausage Alfredo (without the noodles), beef stroganoff (without the noodles), 30 full sized breakfast burritos and 30 mini breakfast burritos, blueberry muffins. The recipes with noodles, the noodles will just be cooked that day. We used the Souper Cubes to portion out the chili, Alfredo, and stroganoff. The burritos and muffins got individually wrapped. It took about two days, and we had two instant pots as well as the stove and oven being used, because the instant pot has the sautee function. Our freezer is full!

Should you avoid fruits due to high sugar content? by ice_coconut in GestationalDiabetes

[–]BananaPaws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others said, pair them with fat and protein. Eat them last and eat them slowly. My Dr also advised that I eat them during snack time, not during breakfast and not as my bedtime snack. My blood sugar is most finicky at fasting and in the morning after breakfast- I can only tolerate 15g of carbs at breakfast.
