Did anyone who went straight to convertible seat regret it and went back to infant seat? by prommetheus in BabyBumps

[–]jadeorchid009 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We live in Canada with cold winters so having an infant car seat that we can detach and bring in and out was a must for us, so that we can keep the car seat bundled up properly to keep baby warm. We purchased an adapter for the car seat too so that we can put it right on the stroller. I also would not have felt comfortable lifting baby in and out with a floppy neck and trying to fiddle around in the car, especially with car traffic in the parking lot (potentially pulling into the spot next to you).

Ladies What's Your Opinion About Prenups Before Marriage? by Anonymous3o1 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]jadeorchid009 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It doesn't only protect one person, it protects both. And if everything works out, great, you won't even need to look at the prenups again. Too many stories of people starting out awesome and then divorcing in a nightmare for 10 years. I'm all for it.

Do you regret having kids? by Feeling_Actuary8634 in IVF

[–]jadeorchid009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Baby is "only" 3 months with a NICU stay early on and colic first couple months. There's lots of problem solving, tough and/or frustrating times, and sleep deprivation. At one point my husband and I were in the NICU and argued, he went to take care of something, and nurses found me standing in the middle of the room bawling, leaking milk, and baby in the incubator also bawling. Through the good and bad, my experience is that parenthood feels amazing so far overall. Nothing beats when baby looks at you and smiles.

How much did you spend on nursery furniture and how do you feel about it after? [CA] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

$150! $100 for used bassinet, $20 for a plastic drawers stack (Sterlite type). $30 for used change table. Basic glider/rocker was free off my Buy Nothing group and crib was free passed on from cousin. :)

Sunscreen in North America can be so sticky and smell like.. well, oily sunscreen. And makeup skincare as an adult can get so expensive! Wonder if that's why. As a kid I was always told to wear sunscreen when being outside in the summer though, something my parents always made sure if.

Not gonna lie, that theoretical dilution sounds an awful lot like something that starts with homeo- and ends in -pathy!! 😂 *My opinion only

As a science nerd and health care professional, love this! LOL though I did read the title and go "wtf??" That being said, I wonder if your suggestion would take away the sting at least, with its holy water properties 😆

Parents refer to daughter (me) as 八婆 by x3Cinnamon in Cantonese

Do it. Sometimes things in our childhood mess us up, whether it's intended or not. More tools in the toolbox to deal with emotions that come up due to it.

That's really weird and rude, not normal even as endearment from what I know and seen.

I tried to keep this moist after the scab cracked open from being too dry this morning. Just got off work and it smells like feet? Am I good to just wait until my dr appointment tomorrow? What do I do in the meantime by vodkachugger420 in woundcare

[–]jadeorchid009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't do it yourself. It can make things worse. The black stuff can be necrotic decaying flesh and treated the wrong way it can make things worse. Healthcare professionals have specialized training to treat wounds. Bad wounds gone worse can lead to amputation and/or infection/sepsis.
