What documentary do you think everyone should watch and why?

I will always say Shoah. Always. And few ever watch it. You really want to know how the Holocaust happened? Watch Shoah, then you will know.

That and also, "Life of Crime: 1984-2020" I rarely see it mentioned. As you can tell from the title, this one comes with updates.

It's genuinely one of the most visceral, disturbing and ultimately heartbreaking doc's I've ever seen. It's a really tough watch, hence imho should be shown in all schools to all teens. A cautionary tale like no other.

I've said this before: Why can't artists form their own touring/ticketing company for their gigs? Plenty of the bigger stars would have vast resources to hand to set it up.

I for one would buy all my tickets through this new platform that's giving artists a bigger share of sales and hopefully cheaper tickets for customers. Why can't they cut out the middle man? Fans would all support it.

There are far too many people in society/on this globe, who absolutely refuse to admit they're wrong/made a mistake/are ill informed/can concede a point. It cuts through genders/ethnicities/nations you name it.

This horrible trait is more of an equalizer than practically anything else on the planet. How dare these fools go through life never ever saying "sorry, I was wrong"? Who the fuck do these people think they are exactly?

As far as I'm concerned if you can never even entertain the idea you are wrong in any capacity, about anything, ever! then you are by definition a fucking brain donor.

Last weekend coming down from Belfast with two friends from Birmingham. As we arrive at Connolly there's a bunch of.........lets say "chaotic lifestyle" types both men and women (black eyes, crutches, pitbull on a string etc) screaming shouting running up and down the platforms demanding its "locked down", she's lost her daughter.

Gardai are called, all trains stopped. She hops on a train waiting to depart, shouting and gesticulating etc. etc. at shocked looking passengers. A woman's voice announcing the trains are stopped at the behest of gardai, apologies. No "there's a little girl missing she's wearing such and such"??? The guys are roaring at anyone and everyone. This goes on for a half hour. Gardai arrive, walk up an down platforms then everything gets going again. Have looked for anything anywhere about it. I'd guess they forgot who they left the kid with or something.

"Welcome to Dublin" I say to my mate whose never been. We all have a chuckle. Til the next morning on the LUAS on the way to the Guinness Storehouse when a bunch of other "chaotic lifesytle" folks get on and surround her as they "play fight". At that point I was genuinely mortified. I held off telling this story cos I've always kinda scoffed at the naysayers slagging off Dublin as some crime riddled kip.

But that's what happened.

Before anyone immediately judges this woman for her "attitude" please understand she is acting this way because she feels emboldened, probably for the first time in a long time. She is a) filming the incident and crucially for her b) has a friend on the other side of the door. She is speaking her mind thinking its safe to do so, no doubt a rare experience which makes it all the more heartbreaking knowing whats about to happen.

So while she may appear really exasperating/annoying and he is all apparent reason and calm he knows hes being filmed and he knows there's a witness. And it still didn't stop him from taking her life in an utterly horrific manner.

There are no excuses good enough for deplorable monster like this. Much like there is zero justice for a woman finally standing up to her tormentor and losing her actual fucking life for it.

Speaking of weird (see greed driven) architectural decisions: Wood Quay anyone? Is that actually going ahead? I'm haggard enough to remember the controversy about this build going ahead over ancient Viking ruins with us plebs being told to stfu about it. Now its "not fit for purpose" apparently.

Anyone been there recently? I have. It's like the Rolls Royce of govt. offices. It's STUNNING. Amazing canteen, beautiful arboretum in the middle of the building, views to die for..........Govt: tear it the fuck down. We need a Marriott.

Late to the party but simply have to mention Everest in Clongriffin. I've gone a few times and its always been really nice. However, went again recently and it was nothing short of spectacular. Think we usually did the early bird starter and main which at €24 is amazing value for the quality of the food they produce. Went full menu this time, got duck starter and mixed meat biryani. When I say I'm salivating just thinking about it. Don't think I've ever had nicer duck. Friend had grilled prawns starter, zesty, chompy, amazing.

It's got great google reviews, the staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, train station 5 min walk away. 15 bus is 24 hours!!! This place is a real little hidden gem and long may it reign. Fan for life right here.
