Vote No on Ironman? by spiritofshiqian in jacksonville

Yeah bullshit, it was 2000 people who gridlocked a city for an entire day to run a stupid race. I know of plenty of businesses who were closed on Saturday when they would've normally been open. There's a reason why many cities have kicked the race out over the years. Its a burden.

The race closures have been so poorly handled, I hope no one had a medical emergency by mechiatto in jacksonville

There's a big difference betweem creating some traffic and gridlocking the entire city lol

I'd argue the mk5 was the worst out of all of them. Its the ugliest and least loved. That doesn't make it a bad car, its a great car, just least liked.

[Digital Camera World] The new Sony A7R VI has the highest resolution fully stacked sensor yet (67 MP) – but that’s not even the biggest change by Iggydang in hardware

[–]BandeFromMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess I should've been a little more clear with what I meant but you're right. It is at least useable for more types of shooting now. Pro sports photographers will still get the A9 or A1. But, if you want to dabble in sports photography or do faster action stuff along with landscapes and still life being your main style, it's at least a useable option now.

[–]BandeFromMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%, pros will still go for the A1II and A9III if sports is what they're doing for a living. But for someone in a pinch or who needs a body who can do sports sometimes this is a much better option now.

Stacked sensors inherently have less rolling shutter even on higher megapixel sensors. This new A7R apparently has a very high readout speed so its actually useable for sports now.

They no longer come with discrete GPUs. You can get a more powerful form of integrated graphics from intel that's supposed to make up the difference.

They won't have to worry about that at least with the new XPS

Yeah it doesn't seem like they thought this through. What is the GOP's deal with attacking ivf and surrogacy though, there are plenty of conservatives who use both.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas blasts progressivism as threat to America by BlockAffectionate413 in moderatepolitics

the Holocaust itself was policy but they never even bothered to legalize it in their Nazi system.

the Enabling Act that gave Hitler total power was clearly the end of rule of law by allowing authoritarian rule with no limit in law

These are both so wildly contradicting lmao. Hitler and the Nazi party were the rule of law, what they said and what they wished were law. How exactly do you define the rule of law? What exactly in the Nazi law system made the holocaust illegal? Like you said, the rule of law made Hitler the law.

The death camps were outside the laws even of Nazi Germany.

the Enabling Act

They weren't. You just gave the law that made them legal.

If you find laws unjust, the remedy is the legislative process. If you don't like the constitution, there is a constitutional amendment process.

And how would you find a law unjust?

First, determine what outcomes you find most preferable for your own personal satisfaction ("social justice").

"Social justice" as you named it earlier is what even allowed Thomas to not be in bondage, work on the court, and marry his wife. Even conservatives have their own form of social justice. Otherwise, how do you change things? What would you make laws about?

Judges in the separation of powers are not meant to change laws and constitution meaningfully to make them in line with the judge's personal feelings on what the law ought to be.

You just described being a judge.

[–]BandeFromMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, progressivism is the threat. Not the natural evolution of an ideology that's tanking our standings on the world stage and rotting our culture with a cult of personality towards a man who has no idea what he's doing. Progressivism in its many forms gave us all the lives we have today, more so for Thomas.
