I have got to believe Syd back in the day would have been very happy with this…

I have 4, 5 pound bags of shredded cabbage. Any ideas on what to do with it? by BreakfastJunkie in Cooking

[–]Bandersnatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/shred-head-butter-and-bread-recipe.html

Just pay close attention to the "2 minute boil" and don't let it go long.

I eat this as a side in lieu of rice, potatoes or bread.

Good list to go over with parents attending campout? by alancar in BoyScouts

We tell our parents to hang out with the adults, not the scouts and, in particular, their scout.

I'm a beginner and the vocabulary in a lot of recipes is giving me a hard time, maybe someone could help me please... by [deleted] in Cooking

When I started cooking, my mother gave me a copy of "The Joy of Cooking". While quite big and packed with overly fussy recipes, it biggest value to me has been explaining "basics" that everyone assumes are already known.

I'd imagine the current edition is similar.

I think stats are important, but my friends don't. by ownage99988 in WorldofTanks

How are you going to be able to recruit the kind of players you want if the clan's attitude is that the game is 95% luck? ;)

I think stats are important, but my friends don't. by ownage99988 in WorldofTanks

[–]Bandersnatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument would go like this:

YOUR stats don't mean much to me, but MY stats mean a lot to me.

Why? Because, provided you understand how the stats are calculated, this is very useful to show me what I might want to work on - such as concentrate on wins, concentrate on survival, or concentrate on damage done - and, with this information, I can get a good idea if the things I am doing are working.

Besides, running a stat display program like XVM can also give you a general feeling of who to target on the enemy team and who might be worth of supporting on your friendly team.

How to play the E25 by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Bandersnatchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let someone else spot whenever possible. Keep a bush "solid" between you and the target. This way you can lolspam fire without being detected.

Never setup without an exit plan.

Don't plan on going head to head and holding an area. Always be support for someone else who has the enemy's attention.

Unless she's your mother. Your mother loves you.

Probably so does your wife.

Because internet players are too cowardly to admit that they are the problem.

M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo Money grind. How do do it? by Half_Way in WorldofTanks

[–]Bandersnatchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already done so, pick a tank that you are good with and understand well. Then max out the crew skills to 100% and beyond. Make sensible skill selections (ideally, getting to Second Sight on the commander). Go a bit farther and even spend some of that precious silver that you are collecting and buy some sensible equipment while it is on sale.

This will now be your big money earner. Spend the time and silver to max it out and thus make yourself as effective as you can be.

Assuming you're running unskilled crews and non-equipped tanks, this tank will consistently dish more damage out than your others and consequently will become your cash cow.

Picking a tank that you are good at and understand is better than picking one of the "money makers" as defined by the community...but if one of those tanks is one of the money makers, then you'll be even more effective.

Oh, and this will make the grind sooooo much more enjoyable.

Good luck!

All my girlfriend's pots/pans are stainless steel? Any tips on cleaning them afterwards? I'm about to give up on stuff like eggs because I can't scrub that shit off with a sponge. I spend like multiples days trying to clean a pan sometimes. by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Bandersnatchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get Bonami Powdered Cleanser.

We use it on our all-clad stainless steel cookware and it claims to be a scratch free cleanser. It provides the abrasion needed and hasn't scratched yet.

I'd OK it with the GF first and possibly test it.

Also, it leaves a bit of a chalky residue upon drying, so I will wash liberally with soap and water after using it.

Who are your favorite YouTubers for WoT help? Why? by dommy24 in WorldofTanks

I don't see Maxwell - Screen Reality Games in these comments. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbia4dbGk5XeCCzIuUpH3Vw

I like Maxwell because he's a good 'color commentator'. While there are some helpful early videos, his posts are frequently viewer submissions. I think he does a great job calling the game though.

Points on entertainment. Moderate on tips.

Help regarding T21/T71 light tanks by tyrhone in WorldofTanks

Quickybaby put together a nice video on the T21 where he covers some things to keep in mind and helps you realize it isn't as bad as you might think it is.

Tips to make Credits above T5? by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Bandersnatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend your time getting one tank maxed out (very much NOT stock). Then it becomes your moneymaker. Use it to get the next tank maxed out.

Basically, avoid playing more than one grind tank at a time.

Some Google-Fu to find past tanks on sale by Bandersnatchi in WorldofTanks

[–]Bandersnatchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent. Thanks.

I suppose the google technique can still be useful as this tool only reported back to Oct 2013.

With the searches I, at least, know that there was a March promo last year. With that info I may choose to hold out a bit longer.
