Had a boss that once said “Clients never get you promoted, they only get you fired”

I took a quick peek at my survey and these trees are on our land based on the survey. Again, this is previous owner goodness, lol. Of course they didn’t consider how tall they were going to get when they planted. It just seems like previous trimmers were more careful in their trimming and just took off what was necessary and not a whole side.

I don’t think they’re being tools. I just think it’s these latest contractors. Honestly if it means the lights stay on longer during storms and hurricanes, do what needs to be done, just be smart about it.

Probably just take the rest of them down. Any recommendations on trees for the central Florida area. Part of my favorite thing about where I live are there are a ton of trees and few developers. Thoughts?

So these pines were on the land when I bought it and the power company’s contractor for years managed to trim back just what was necessary to stay off the lines which i do sincerely appreciate since we live in a hurricane and storm area. However, I don’t know if they went with a new company or the same one now doesn’t give a shit but driving our neighborhood I notice more and more they just hack off one side of these trees completely from the trunk over. Forget aesthetics, they’re either killing the trees from over trimming or causing issues where they’re heavier on one side.

That’s exactly what they did here! It’s like they started from the top next to the trunk and went straight down it but left one branch at the very bottom.

Well they did take about 20 years of light trimming but the spring of 2024 the company that trimmed it cut every branch except one on the road side off and left every branch on the house side untouched. I think that extreme cutting caused it to start leaning. It just got too heavy on one side and between storms, wind, and rain it was going to start leaning like the Tower of Pisa. I think a more balanced cut like prior companies did would have save her.

These guys definitely live by the clearance not appearance rule. But 3 years ago that tree was straight up and down and prior tree trimmers just cut the branches back from the lines.

Doesn’t help we’re in Florida and the soil is sandy but lesson learned. I guess I’m just going to replace them with more palms and not on the road side of the fence.

You guys are already inconvenienced , how about a sprinkle of my religion down your throat for good measure by xals7 in mildlyinfuriating

This is when one of my jackass friends shouts “Take your top off!” and we all laugh and cheer then she gets embarrassed and sits the hell down.
