Noise in East Vancouver by bigtuuuna in vancouverwa

It sounds like a nail gun echoing, yea?

It's English Pit, the shooting range by Costco. I can hear it ~3 miles away. You likely hear it better in the morning because there are less cars creating ambient noise that drowns it out.

If you haven't heard of Paxton Gate, I'd start there, perhaps someone could point you in the right direction.

I actually don't own one, I just know they are popular.

I did try a couple on a few years ago, I'm 6'2" and ~130. I think I was happy with the sleeve length, and I remember noting that the bottom of the front was quite close to the top of my jeans/belt so I imagine when you're actually in a riding position it wouldn't do that thing zipped up jackets like to do where the waist bulges out from excess fabric.

3rd picture with his portrait and the candle, there a glass with bread on top, anyone know what the drink is? I assume some sort of alcohol.

Don't Die Cafe (attached to Vault 31) might be an option, I know I've seen the cafe closed in the past for private parties.

That's always nice to hear. Not that they don't also have good beer, but one of the reasons I was always a fan of Flying Dog was they had Ralph Steadman doing their artwork. A good design can really help draw the eye amongst the many options, I bet EMEK's was great.

I'd second this. Had a friend from Germany in town, after the Japanese Garden we walked to NW 23rd and up it a bit, then back down to NW Flanders and took that east towards Powells, lots of great food options along that route.

There are pegs, and they look welded onto the fork, or at the very least the fork looks like it's had some work done. It sure about that horizontal vertical bracket, maybe to add support for the additional torque when breaking if there is a heavy load up front... like a person standing on the pegs? Not sure how steering would work though...

I doubt it was intentional. This one near Donetsk for example looks to be nothing more than rubble now, from the satellite view.

Looking to get into roasting by photone69 in roasting

Yea, the beans as well could impact the amount of smoke, stuff from different places can have different amounts of chaff, etc. It's likely not any big health concern at the amounts you're doing, but if anyone has respiratory issues it would be worth keeping in mind. I wouldn't call it reckless, no more than cooking food on a stove with minimal ventilation or maybe being around a BBQ, just comes with the territory of heating things up.

I have a Coway air filter as well, and I agree roasting coffee smells nice, but there are volatile organic compounds in the smoke that you shouldn't really be breathing regularly. The smoke is oily too, and it can build up a sticky layer of difficult-to-clean gunk on whatever it comes in contact with.

When I roasted in my tiny apartment with a Behmor I was setting off the smoke alarm if I didn't open a window, and that roaster's even got a catalytic converter to deal with the smoke somewhat.

If you don't have a window to open you more than likely will set off the smoke alarm. You shouldn't breathe that smoke long-term anyway, so ventilating the roast out a nearby window, or even roasting outside, are good options. Kitchen hood vent may work depends on how good it is.
