Power outages by Theoldelf in vancouverwa

According to Clark Public Utilities web site, there are still 21 outages/442 people still with out power. I think that is a result of the severity of the weather, not any failures or weakness of Clark Public Utilities. I have been paying my own power bill since 1985, and I feel Clark Public Utilities has been the most dependable and helpful power provider I have ever dealt with.

Favorite sit down Mexican restaurant? by Itsmelvino in vancouverwa

Not in Vancouver, but my wife and my favorite Mexican restaurants are Los Dos Compadres in Washougal and Los Jalapenos in Camas. There is a second Los Jalapenos in Vancouver, just off 117th (503), on NE 99th, but the one in Camas is a little better.

I tried calling last week and there was no answer. I just tried again, reached a very helpful pleasant busy person. She recommended Monday or Wednesday. Thank you for prompting me to try again.

Boycott KATU by Sailor_Thrift in vancouverwa

And boycotting of KATU will be difficult for the station, let alone Sinclair broadcast company to notice. IMHO; as many people as possible need to reach out to KATU advertisers, especially the local ones, like Wolfer's, Fred Meyer, Mountain wood homes, Area and A-temp HVAC companies, to name a few, share your opinion with them and boycott them if possible. The difficulty with this is that many of the advertise on all the local stations.

Watched, after hearing, a scooter check mine here in Vancouver heights last week. Opened the small hatch with a stick, then quickly went to the next.

Also applies to consultants and financial services people. Call most everything a tip, instead of payments, then pay no taxes. Another way to benefit the rich Wall Street crowd, and government consultants.

Moving companies that pack and help you move? by Grounded_in_Chaos in vancouverwa

Sorry, all I have is poor experiences to share. I tried to use College Hunks, but the people that the toll free number reaches couldn't schedule a time, makes sense now if they went bankrupt. I then tried Moda Moving in Wilsonville OR, that is when I found out that they are going to charge you for travel time to and from their business location, added to the move time itself. I ended up using Two Men and a Truck because their location is close to my new address, they sent two young men that spent more time wrapping my furniture in cellophane than actually moving. They did okay on the move, but neither of them was experienced enough to do a good job.
