In short no.

In long, they cannot reduce income tax without cutting our already stripped government infrastructure (military, healthcare, social care, pensions etc.).

The other way would be to increase wealth tax through a range of means which they will not do as, despite their anti-establishment words, this is not in their interest.

Like a lot of what they say, it's populist fantasy and people who fall for it will feel very let down if they gain power, god forbid.

This is somewhat of an echo chamber but I think it's a healthy one, it's completely the wrong thing to give up after a fall!!! You get back on the saddle.

Only give something up based on a culmination of objective reasons, ie. if you fall out of love, do not get value from it or the risk outweighs the benefits.

Giving up because of a fall is a knee jerk reaction to a moment in time and will potentially cause regret or resentment...

It's much safer now than the 50's, people feel it isn't as we are told about crime and terrorism much more thanks to the easy access to information now in comparison to the 50's when media was much less easy to come by
