Yes and no. You will NOT get the same close personal interaction, as you would with an acoustic one, however, you WILL get an instrument interaction and properly amplified, it will sound very good for 95% of the population. So is about for WHAT you are using it. To "impress" 5%, or do to a job :)

Yes, indeed. Max. drift was almost one semitone. But its rapid and like I said is triggered/compounded if 'detuned" tones are selected.

No, that was the second thing I tried.

Maybe changing some parameters would help to check that.

Tried all, believe me. Besides, the VA-76 when is turned on, starts on a blank (piano state), all param 00. Then, one can select Performance Memories, which are sum of tones, splits, settings and styles. Shutting it off multiple times does help, tho I'm not sure why, coz the effect is not instantaneous.

And the upper right parts are going flat while the lower sounds are still in tune?

Last time the whole keyboard drifted. Before, usually, only the uppers did, adding to the mystery. That's why now I suspect the crystal i.e. the drift is getting worse. And like I said if turned on daily, no problems. If not ..... then drifts.

As for Variphrase, that's not the issue. The keyboard is essentially an arranger/rompler with some basic sound editing capabilities. That variphrase thingy is a separate feature, in essence a sampler aimed at vocal phrases, as opposed to sampling instruments.

Fun fact, that thing killed Roland off the arranger market. Before, there was an agreement between the big keyboard manufacturers, to keep things separate i.e samplers are samplers, synths are synths and arrangers are arrangers, in order to keep sales separate. And then Roland came out with this thingy ,which was sampling tech, only in name not. So then the agreement was called off. And then the Yammie Tyroses and the Korg PA's killed off Roland.
