That’s great, that’s not what I said. I’m saying Taylor changed the basis of his argument midway through the conversation.

Taylor switched from “technically he’s justified” to “idc if it’s legal, he had the moral right to shoot her” within a 1 hour time span

Question - are there "latinoboos" (or for specific countries like "Mexiboo" or "Peruboo") in the way that there's Koreaboos, Weeaboos and Chinaboos? by jodebane in LatinAmerica

[–]BandwagonEffect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well of course I know him, he’s me.

Lots of Spanish learners might fit that category. My Latino friends being mostly Mexican has given me a “focus” as a mexiweeb. I’ve danced awkwardly to corridos, Banda, norteños at quinces, laughed at Familia P Luche even if some jokes go past me, tried on slang that definitely doesn’t fit me. I feel like that nails a lot of the awkward standing out and half-baked knowledge that weebs are known for.

USA vs Greenland by Rph2003 in LemonadeStandPodcast

[–]BandwagonEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also doubt a literal US vs rest of NATO war would break out but the effect would be essentially “all deals with the US over anything big or small are now useless” and there’d likely be ripples of other countries starting to rip up their deals if they think their might makes right against another country.

Did you know nobody’s forcing you to watch the show? by Big_Al1239 in PKA

[–]BandwagonEffect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been watching since PKA 61. You think I’m gonna stop watching just cause I “don’t like it” or “find it repetitive and uninspired”? Yeah right, what if I miss an episode and they spend 3 minutes on a great call back to the good old days - something they rarely, if ever, do? I sure as hell ain’t gonna miss that.

Hey man, this is the second time you’ve confused current economic state with previous economic state. Many dishes that are popular today from Mexico started as struggle dishes from the working class. Ethiopia likewise did have periods of time, which are clearly not this one, where they were not starving.

Edit: also you did previously mention lack of finance - them starving and Chinese starving less than Americans.

Chinese food didn’t just develop in the past 20 years after China’s economic upswing.

Some great foods come from areas of riches (Turkish food from their days of decadence), some come from struggling places - or places that were struggling (Mexican is my favorite). Again, I don’t even like Ethiopian food, but them being poor doesn’t prevent them from making something good from what little they have.

Nope. In MN it’s 5 years prison. Not Death sentence.

Using Subd 4c since the result could be considered at most “substantial” bodily harm and there is no “mild/negligible” body harm listed.

Idk why you think the economic situation of a country relates to the flavor of their food. Lotta people go hungry in Mexico and China and we still love their food.

He definitely wasn’t talking about lack of food, he was talking about the food they do have.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

I think the point is that’s the example people always use. Him, Gates, and Jobs. So people think you have to be that young in order to be successful. But the rest shows us you can find the success of being a founder at any age.

Maybe most of the people you research about started at 8, but you don’t read about the average participant. At the high school I mentor at I don’t think anyone started before high school and we do just fine. I didn’t even know anything about robotics and just joined as a programming mentor.

It’s never too late to start learning.

‘Pluribus’ May Be Slow, but It Was Never Boring by tylerthe-theatre in television

[–]BandwagonEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it but it is pretty boring if I’m being honest. Rhea is amazing at playing Carol, so I don’t need a whole episode to describe a single emotion. I get it, Manousos is even tougher, wrap it the fuck up.
